I just want to know this.
What is the purpose of stockpiling money at cost of others' poverty?
Money was not meant to be stockpiled by few.
It was meant to circulate as means.

If certain people (we know who) do anything to stockpile millions of euros, even by bribing politicians, in order to play monopoly with real assets as spoiled kids do.
And in the meantime companies close, people are fired. As result.

I wonder. All this money that they have been stockpiling, will they take it with them? To the afterlife?

Please provide an audit to show money is being stockpiled.

There is a problem of communication here.

When I say the EU, I do not mean the European peoples (Spanish, Germans, Italians, French, Polish) who are all victims of the same perpetrators.

I mean very big concentrations of power. Banking group with limitless power.
Who control anything: The IMF. The ECB. And the EC.

The EU is the EU, the IMF is a world body.

So you can't provide evidence of your claim. Fair enough

The annual salary of a ECB president is the evidence that the ECB is not a charity organization.
It is not a philanthropic institute.
It is a concentration of powers, that is privates who through Seigniorage Banking become richer and richer.
And they pay their president for defending their private interests

I can only say one thing about Alitalia.
Quality. Class. My first flight ever was in 2002. Rome-Paris. Excellent.
Back then the State used to spend lots of money on this state company. A company which wad supposed to be owned by the State.
And the results were evident. The service was flawless.

And yet, the EU with its blackmailing clauses, with its devilish regulations, with its dictatorial behavior has done anything to boycott the Italian State and all its own assets.
Public assets...which used to make it very wealthy.

Maastricht forced us to privatize our public assets

That is the result. A privatized company...debts...flight attendants fired.

THANK YOU EU

One thing about the EU which I respect is that they have a passenger's bill of rights, which the U.S. doesn't have. U.S. airlines used to be the premiere of the world, but now, deregulation has caused service to go down the drain, and U.S. carriers are among the worst airlines in the world.

But yes, privatization is always bad, in my opinion.

We are speaking of essential public services such as flying.
State's intervention is absolutely necessary, when it deals with means of transportation.

Yes, transportation is a vital function and should be controlled/managed by the state. Same for utilities, healthcare, education, housing, and other essential services.

jeez, the salary is based on the job, presidents of large conglomerates get good pay otherwise no one skilled in the job would accept it

@ChristineM
I understand you perfectly:)
I understand your plight. You think the EU is a great invention. So do I. Really.
I am not speaking of the EU as a whole. I am speaking of the people who misuse their power to favor people who are already rich.
They should favor employment.

I don't think the EU is a great invention but i do think it's better than the alternative as britain is showing big style.

Yet you open the thread by slagging the EU and continued doing so.

Every country is the same, including yours, the rich get richer, while the poverty line gets higher. Its a consequence of right wing politics, the "buddy" system and human greed.

I feel like crying if I think of the ending scene of movie Only you (1994).

The protagonist, Marisa Tomei realizes she is in love with Robert DowneyJr., so she wants to reach him on the flight Rome-Boston.
She begs the Alitalia employees who understand it is a matter of love and they are so thrilled to help her. So they change her Rome-NYC ticket to a Rome-Boston ticket and they let her come up on that plane. Even if the gates had already been closed.

Wonderful scene.
We Italians are like that:heart:

I am not envious of the rich. I love them.
They are useful because they buy goods and services that the people produce.

The problem is not rich people who make the economy work because of their intelligence and their good investments.

The problem is big concentrations of economic power who want it all. They always hide behind the curtains so we have no idea of who they are.

So you like power except the power you don't like... Fair enough

I like a rich State who prints its own money and owns its own national flight company.
And it prevents excellent employees from being fired.
I do not like the people who prevent all this^ from taking place.

So you don't like the Italian government then,
