Obviously, Biden and his administration support illegal immigrants coming into the U.S. by their actions despite saying words to the contrary. Do you think otherwise?
Well said. Some people argue that illegal immigrants are better because they commit less crime and turn a blind eye to why that is.
Are you saying the criminal Cartels are justified (a kind of necessary evil)? Why are they necessary?
An interesting point of view, but legal exception already exists for people who would suffer unduly in Mexico. Moreover, bringing them into the U.S. has actually empowered the Cartels that exploit them - the opposite of the claimed benefit.
Yes, the vast majority of asylum seekers do not have a valid asylum claim. Are you arguing that those rejected actually do have a valid asylum claim simply because they didn't migrate from Mexico? Are you aware that most Haitians weren't fleeing their homeland, but instead wanted to resettle from other countries besides Haiti that they had already migrated to and settled in? Are you also aware that Remain in Mexico would've allowed Haitians to have their cases reviewed without shipping them back to Haiti (the place that they were ostensibly fleeing from)? Why would Biden support shipping them back to Haiti, but not support having them stay in Mexico while their cases are reviewed?
Feel free to give answers to those questions.
You said that 35% of people are in favor immigration (legal or illegal), but then stated that no one politically supports illegal immigration.
Do you think that there is any case to be made in support of illegal immigration (other than what you've already put forth)?
If I understand correctly, the argument so far that illegal immigration is good is as follows:
- Illegal immigrants are exploitable as cheap labor that can be denied basic rights (a form of slavery).
- Some (?) illegal immigrants somehow have a legitimate asylum claim despite being rejected when their case is thoroughly reviewed by experts.
- Many of them are not from Mexico implies that many (?) of them aren't going to the U.S. for employment purposes (?) and are, instead, refugees with legitimate (?) asylum claims.
- Mexico is too dangerous a place for anyone to wait while an asylum claim is reviewed. Only the U.S. can be considered safe from criminal organizations.
But in the current situation of uncontrolled illegal immigration, the drawbacks of child abuse, sexual assault, murder, drugs, human trafficking, and empowered criminal organizations are... acceptable tradeoffs? So for example, it is okay for tens of thousands of U.S. citizens to die every year from fentanyl because many more thousands of exploitable cheap laborers will be imported.
