Supreme Court finds officers covered by 'qualified immunity' in two cases

So to be clear, you're disputing that:

1) There was a mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan 6;

2) People shouted "There's a gun" and "He's got a gun", despite both being clearly audible in the video (at 27-30 seconds in the video).

You also believe that "just a few" people stormed the Capitol on Jan 6.

I'm not sure what to say to that, other than just noting that denying observed reality doesn't make it go away.
I heard from one Representative that they were just tourists:rolleyes:

I remember when I toured the Smithsonian, but for the life of me I don't recall threatening to kill the people who worked there, smearing poo on the exhibits, breaking windows or doors, or stealing things.

Weird......o_O

.

The officer was not heard giving warning which is in line with what some witnesses on the scene stated. Bystanders saying there's a gun is not the same as an officer giving warning before firing.

I do not think that there is any such requirement. Now is your chance to support your claims. Find the policy or regulation that tells us that the Capitol police have to give warning first.

With baseball bats and flagpoles, which in the case of flagpoles they were most likely intended for flags but used because it was handy. Have you ever hit something with a flagpole? about as useless a weapon as a bicycle chain.
Some had guns.
And while I've never used a flagstaff as a weapon, especially if the flag is removed.

In that particular crowd? From what I have read only two firearms were found among all protestors that were at the protest, a couple of others were found in a search of a car. Only one shot was fired that day and it was to kill Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed 5'2 110 pound woman climbing through a window.

As the vanguard of a large angry crowd,
it was reasonable to defend the entry
with deadly force. Her height, gender, &
weight are irrelevant.

Is that why a reported 140 officers were injured?

It was an insurrection as Bannon had announced the day before.

But a review of the federal charges against the alleged rioters shows that they did come armed, and with a variety of weapons: stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats and flagpoles wielded as clubs. An additional suspect also allegedly planted pipe bombs by the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican parties the night before the riot and remains at large.-- Yes, Capitol Rioters Were Armed. Here Are The Weapons Prosecutors Say They Used

It was a mostly peaceful protest, and if you say Ashli Babbitt deserved what she got because some said the officer had a gun then by the same reasoning Heather Hyer deserved what she got because she got in the way of a car. I imagine when some "trolled for conservatives" in the past they fully supported the deadly and fiery George Floyd riots but since posts are scrubbed every few months we can only rely on memory, I've watched this forum for a while before signing up- I know.

That is complete unadulterated nonsense as I watched it live and then numerous reruns afterwords.

Here:

...and here:

A very smal percentage of those who attended the mostly peaceful protest but it makes for some great propaganda to paint the entire protest with it for political purposes.

I find it disturbing that some think that elected officials and capitol police officers lives mean more than the average citizens and police officers whose cities endured months of deadly rioting, just tjink how the average citizen felt when police presence was removed by cowardly mayors trying to ride the wave.

Guns were not the only weapons present.

And yes, one shot was fired and the crowd of would be insurrectionists turned coward and ran. It was not only the right thing to do. It was highly effective.

Oh my! You just don't get it. So if a thug that was yelling about killing your wife as he tried to break into your home would be allowed to by you.

Hopefully you are not married.

An importance of the January 6th Committee is to try and get to the bottom of what happened and who was directly or indirectly involved, thus anyone who questions exactly what happened and why should be in full support of that Commission-- but the low-information base for Trump doesn't want that to the point of even being willing to defying the Constitution's oversight clause that Congress has.

After all, if I'm innocent, I want such an investigation to show that I'm innocent. Is this what Trump's base wants? Nada.

The simple reality is this: on January 6th of 2021, there was a violent break-in during the storming of our Capitol, and that attack led to 140 officers being injured. For some to claim that this was a "peaceful protest" is total looney tunes-- full stop.

And speaking of the investigation it looks like Steve Bannon is going to be charged with contempt of Congress:

House January 6 committee unanimously votes to hold Steve Bannon in criminal contempt
Yep, especially since he said on the 5th that there would be some hostilities. To what extent was this possibly organized and by whom, this is what investigations are for. The Pubs wanted and got 9 Benghazi hearings, and Hillary did testify, and yet these Trump supporters don't want this for the 6th. What anti-American and basic moral bankruptcy-- party "tribalism" at its worse.
