Supply Chain Issues due to Consumers

Production all over the world slowed down significantly during the pandemic. People were not working so they were also not buying as much. And it takes a long time to ramp back up. Also there appears to be a shift in available labor which will add to that time delay. It's no one's fault. It's just going to take time to get back to what used to be 'normal'.

And various places we rely on overseas are being affected by the COVID pandemic so can't ramp up to meet the demand.

It's such a sorry state of affairs when there is a panic because little jack and jill won't have their favorite wishes under the Christmas tree, oh wait, there's no tree, or might be forced to plan something other than turkey for Thanksgiving, and the worse, no candy or costumes for Halloween. What are Americans to do?

We are buying so much stuff, it's slowing everything down.

"Yet claims that the country is running short on everything miss a key point. America has, in fact, imported an immense amount of stuff in the past eight months. And that's part of the reason we're in the midst of an epic supply-chain congestion."

America isn't running out of everything just because of a supply-chain crisis. America is running out of everything because Americans are buying so much stuff.
Not according to treasury deputy. According to him it's because the economy is in "transition" and everyone needs to get vaccinated to fix it. So in other words vaccine mandates have created labor shortages. IMO the goods are here they just aren't getting to the shelves fast enough. This is vaccine mandates and other poor policies resulting in people not filling jobs.
And I don't think democrats care. They just want everyone to knuckle under.

To me it could get worse. I think of how Soviets starved Ukrainian farmers for communism; literally committed genocide to transform the Ukraine into a communist state. Mao had all the birds killed which created out of control insect population ruining the crops and resulted in the death of untold millions. Left wing governments have done stupid/criminal things before. So I don't think we should let Biden do whatever he wants to the economy. He should be stopped ASAP.

So the supply chain can't handle the demand? Sounds like a supply chain crisis. :D

Makes a lot of jobs. In fact the labor force is in the drivers seat these days because of it.

Accepting there is a limit to how much human population the earth can support I suppose we will reach that limit and stop growing or find new resources.

The pandemic wasn't a worldwide disaster?

I was thinking of something like a world war that created actual shortages not panic buying shortages. It was a world wide disaster but on the scale of zombie apocalypse it was way down the list.

Thanks, Donald.
Sure thing, Hillary.

You doom-&-gloom the-world-is-ending types need to
get some perspective. We will cope with the SARS-Cov-2
virus. A small percentage of the population died from it.
It will become endemic as did the bubonic plague.
Don't agonize over it.
Don't crawl into a cave.
Take it seriously.
Get vaccinated.
Take precautions.
Go about business.
Enjoy life.

In the meantime you justify continuing excess irrespective of the catastrophic impact upon the biosphere.

I'm not justifying anything, just pointing out what I expect is likely to happen.
As the population grows we are going to need more unless to plan on stopping procreation.
I understand your concern and expect we will end up dealing with the consequences of our actions.
