God= Higher states of Consciousness

Swapping one addiction for another. Addicted to meth....addicted to religion. Both consume minds.
That can happen, but it's rare. People who have suffered the humiliation of an addiction are not likely to willingly transfer control to another one. Also, AA and other 12-step recovery programs and methods are not religious. And I am not religious. I was simply commenting on my being able to recognize the need people have for religious faith, and specifically for the need to be able surrender control to a "a power greater than themselves" when trying to control their own destinies is doing them more harm than good.

I think we need to be wary of assuming that "higher" states of consciousness are superior states of consciousness. Especially when the higher state we are referring to is our own.

I think you do. I don't think I do. ;)

The beginning of recovery for many addicts, comes with the recognition that self reliance has failed us. If you have experienced absolute powerlessness in the face of addiction, you will understand the need to turn for the solution, to a power greater than yourself; whatever your own conception of such a power may be.

If you cannot even conceive the possibility of a power greater than yourself, then you are deceived by the ego into believing that you are in charge of your world. In which case, it may be worth examining the evidence, and asking yourself, Am I really in charge here, and am I doing such a great job?

The first thing I think of is mind/thoughts and awareness in regards to consciousness. I dont like the dichotomy of higher/lower, divine/mundane,spiritual/humanist etc so that's in part why I don't understand it.
My thoughts too. If "God" (LIGHT) created everything, it all has universal consciousness.

Besides this, everything needs two polarities to be created, and then we have to add the FEMALE GODDESS part to the discussion of consciousness as well.

This OP will probably make some believers angry at the OP starter, and that is totally fine :) But when there is a deeper realization of what God is and others who have not yet had the realization, read it, they will maybe try to defend their own understanding of God. That is also ok to do,

So to say out aloud God is a higher state of consciousness and God is within everything. What happens to your thoughts when reading this? (no it is not a challenge)

Is this topic even possible to discuss in a gentle manner?
Are you suggesting God is not an entity, but rather a state of mindfulness?

In fact, it should be their turn to say "it is tiresome to say or post anything to anyone without getting accused or labeled" is it not?

@ameyAtmA I certainly took your advice to heart but there are probably people on this forum who probably know alot about "theoretical" things but are maybe a bit unsure about trusting themselves and thus repeatedly express the need for feedback. If they want feedback, I give it. To my knowledge, I didn't claim in any way that I was enlightened or so and I always said that they are not required to follow my advice. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think I ever gave feedback that wasn't solicited. I also repeatedly said that my judgement is based upon forum posts alone so it doesn't have to be accurate at all. Generally speaking, I consider a little bit of judging to be a good tool to figure out whether something is trustworthy. However, I think one shouldn't forget to take everything with a gain of salt and not put people in a position they didn't claim to have.

So much for privacy if God is in everything

Thanks for explaining. I may not know all the context you are talking about. I don't think anyone is saying you give unsolicited feedback though.

Agreed. Good reminder for me. I forget to take that grain of salt sometimes.

I do not have the full answer to what God truly is, I have not figgered that out yet, but my current understanding is that God is universal consciousness. And on a level of consciousness far beyond human capability.
