- Contradiction with creation timelines in Genesis 1 & 2.
- Flood water rose, lasted 40 days or 150 days.
- The Greek Septuagint on Genesis 5 differed in the numbers of years in Masoretic Text, eg Septuagint says Adam 230 years old when Seth was born, while MT says he was 130. The Septuagint add 100 years to most patriarchs (when they became fathers to the next patriarchs) in Genesis 5.
- Goliath’s height in Masoretic Text differed from that of Septuagint and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
- Two different birth stories of Jesus.
- Two different versions of Jesus’ genealogy.
- The night where Jesus was anointed with perfume, during supper at Bethany:
- ...took place at home where Simon the leper was host in Mark 14 and Matthew 26, but host was Lazarus in John 12;
- ...woman doing anointing was unnamed and unknown in Mark & Matthew, but it was Mary Magdalene in John;
- ...and it was Jesus’ head anointed in Mark & Matthew, but Mary anointed Jesus’ feet.
- ...in Luke 7, the anointing of Jesus’ feet, by unnamed “sinful” woman, in the home of Simon the Pharisee, not Simon the leper or Lazarus, and it took place in Nain (Galilee), not in Bethany (Judaea).
- Mary Magdalene’s visit to Jesus’ tomb, she went alone in one gospel, with another woman, in another gospel and with 2 other women.

I think you and I do not have the same definition of the holy spirit. I also do not agree with your depiction of the Bible as being deeply flawed. However it was written down, and by that I mean in what form or shape it was first penned I do not know. We can only assume based on what it says. However, in regard to the holy spirit it might be worth it for you to research this. I will quote the following from John chapter 3: "Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit. Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

"Atheists" don't say the Bible has been edited over the centuries. Scholars and historians do. It is amusing how the theist consistently blame the atheist for things they don't like.
The Bible is full of contradictions. If one can't see that and accept that, then they are stricken with a sound case of Cognitive dissonance.

Sounds like you equate bible tales with either magic or alien tech.The Ark served its purpose in keeping the DNA samples dry, then the samples were re-activated into living creatures after the flood subsided..

One of the first books I read - after I had read the bible which put me on the precipice of atheism - was "Self-Contradictions of the Bible." Originally published in the 1800s. Anonymously, of course - the author knew the flock well enough to fear for his life, I suppose, though the author is now known.
It is a simple, line vs. line account of direct contradictions the author found in Scripture. 144 of them.
Example:

Dwelling in light which no man can approach unto. (1 Tim. 6:16.)
GOD DWELLS IN DARKNESS.
The Lord said he would dwell in thick darkness. (1 Kings 8:12.)

Clouds and darkness are round about him. (Ps. 97:2.)

Speaking of things not liked, I only joined RF 10 days ago and have already had several of my posts deleted by the mods, I suppose some snowflake atheists didn't like them and must have complained to get them deleted..
I've therefore started looking round for a free speech forum as I don't expect to be here much longer.
Incidentally I'm a mod myself at the Mission4Today aviation forum and my posts have had 11 million views, I saw an advert like this on the net and as I seemed well qualified I thought I'd give it a go-

There has been at least one noticeable problem in the transmissions in the Christian Greek Scriptures, commonly known as the "New Testament." I don't see these books, obviously written in ancient times, as "deeply flawed." I see them as a guide to life if properly understood and incorporated in one's life. And of course, we are recognizing that Joshua did not write about his own death. This is not to say that every single word was written by Joshua or any of the writers with the name attached to the book. You do ask an interesting question.
The reason I said that holy spirit gathered the collection of books as generally accepted by many Christians and was put together by the Catholic Church is because that was the instrument God used at that time. I'll get back to this later, you do ask an interesting question and I'd like to do more research on this.

I too was "warned," not sure what you were warned about, I spoke to moderators about my warning(s), they were very nice, but -- we all have different mindsets, so I look for conversations that I find interesting and which don't "break the rules." If a person becomes so obstinate that they can't see the trees from the forest, or tell me repeatedly how stupid (uneducated) I am, it's probably time for me to move on, as the expression goes. But sometimes I don't.
