I do not need to live on disability any more days than I have to.

If I can work $28/hr, 20 hrs/wk, doing technical support, from my bedroom, doing something positive, with low turnover, I will accept.

I have applied to a few already.

If I'm going to stay on my benefits I think $18/hr 10.5 hrs which I will probably soon work is sufficient.

Make sure you take a look at your areas "Return to work" programs. It can help bridge the gap between the two. I've heard some places allow you to keep some disability for up to 6 months while working, in case the job doesn't work out, you don't have to reapply.

As much as I might sometimes feel otherwise, I have to admit that working is good for me. At my age working full time at a physical job would be tough, and I'm glad I don't have to. But I can and do get up and go to work 6 days a week at a moderately physical part time job, and I'm grateful for it. It keeps me focused and feeling like a 'contributor' in the world.

For most of us, doing some work for others every day is a good thing.

I was told today that it would probably have to be a lot more than $28/hr because of my pills unless I got health insurance.

I am thinking about talking to my dr about going on a much cheaper med. Abilify is outrageous in price. My other meds are pretty cheap. i no longer want to be on medicaid.
