I don't believe he was, no.

Christianity in various forms has been guilty at times of deifying the messenger while ignoring or misinterpreting the message, but it's unfair imo to hold Jesus responsible for that.

Meanwhile, the message endures through all the centuries of obfuscation, manipulation and misrepresentation; that you should live each other, as I have loved you.

My answer to the first question based on this definition is no. It implies a persona that is inaccurate as well as great government support and muting the voice of opposing views. I believe about Jesus that he is portrayed accurately in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Though Jesus was popular and often with a large crowd, much of the religious leaders opposed him and also sought his death. Jesus also took questions and was criticized.

To the second question, not usually. However , if a claim to divinity is made by someone , to believe in the individual in all respects would include believing the claim is true. I believe Jesus made a claim to divinity and I believe it is true.
