I was only on one trial in my life - a dumb contested drunk driving charge with the driver refusing to take a sobriety test. One person on the jury did not understand the meaning of the word 'reason' as in 'reasonable doubt' and kept going on about not being there so how could we be 100% totally certain he was guilty. Hung jury 11-1
Do you mean you were on the jury or...?

You're gonna have to move here if you want me to support you. I pay state taxes, but at most I give Uncle Sam enough to get Mr. Van a half tank of gas.

I ain't movin' to the gall dang peace love and tie dye, pink tofu eating, gnarly dude, hippie infested left coast....

I left out "over-priced".
Your state is a lousy place for non-multi-millionaires to move to.
I could never afford there what I have here.
But you could take solace in the fact that I'll never be your neighbor.
Where I am here compared to where I was in Indiana, they prices here aren't much high but the money to be made is so much greater that it's less costly here than there.

Nope, to many hippies for me....besides the dang place is on fire......

Hippies have mutated. Now there are millennials and Gen Z folk. Some of them make us hippies look conservative except in one area - what people wore during the 60's was much more creative than what I see today.

We export not only food and electronics but also social change. It's coming to you and you can't hide from it. Pretty soon these people will surround you.

That's cancel culture and paper-thin thresholds before being offended. Those groups are ultra conservative compared to the free love hippies who could say things without it being an outrage with a mob demanding the blood of careers. And they think the Dems are liberal, progressive, and Left wing.
Truly, I'm glad I was born when I was to avoid that koolaid. I had that funky 90s koolaid, the kind that made us anti-authority, wearing super baggy clothes, guys with black nail polish and eye liner, and it was a great perk starting my working life well ahead enough of the Recession that I lost nothing and got ahead. That was pretty nice. Because it allowed me to get the home and land that I sold to be able to move to a much better place. To a land where they tend not to beat people in the head with Bibles, don't care if you don't fit in, and even Bill Maher's LA audience tends to boo PC/SJW/Cancel Culture rubbish.

If more work had a more relaxed time frame and not conducted in such a way as to surgically attach one's job to oneself, like this jury duty thing has been, work wouldn't be so bad.
