श्री कृष्णा शरणं मम
"When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited. The winds of grace are always blowing, but you have to raise the sail. The world is indeed a mixture of truth and make-believe. Discard the make-believe and take the truth." - Sri Ramakrishna

The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it. ~ Eckhart Tolle

If you don't have very strong emotions or very intense thoughts about something, you cannot get depressed. ~ Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

Life is rooted in reality, not in your thoughts and emotions. ~ Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them. ~ Eckhart Tolle

The most beautiful moments in your life – moments of bliss, moments of joy, moments of ecstasy, moments of utter peace – were moments when you were not thinking about anything. You were just living. ~ Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

In every moment you only have one real choice: to be aware of the Self or to identify with the body and the mind. ~ Annamalai Swami

Body-consciousness is the source of all misery. ~ Ramana Maharshi

What we call sin is nothing but the solidification, the condensation of wrong actions continuing for a long time; and punya, or merit, is the condensation of good actions that we have performed. To repeat once again what I said, a good action is that tendency in our consciousness which moves in the direction of larger and larger dimensions of itself, and a sin is a contraction of consciousness which moves more and more in the direction of the physical body; and the worst sin is to have consciousness lodged in the body itself, and think that one is only the body. ~ Swami Krishnananda

Thinking is good, but excessive thinking is not. Between thoughts if there is a period of thoughtlessness, thoughts will be fresh and pathbreaking. A thinker will be able to cultivate a strain of healthy thoughts only when he pays attention to thoughtlessness also. ~ Acharya Mahapragya

While doing work if the mind continues to be active let it be so, but there must be at the same time a capacity for silence. ~ Sri Aurobindo

Reason does not need thinking. If you observe yourself making a plan you will notice that having fixed the object, the facts just keep coming, linking up into a chain of proposed action. Awareness is experiencing from moment to moment. Reason acts quickly in awareness, a thousand times faster than thought, and you do not even notice it is operating. ~ Barry Long

When the robot mind is mastered, undisciplined thinking ceases and is replaced by awareness. Awareness can know love. You can only experience the new when you are aware, when you are without thought. ~ Barry Long

I do not know if you have noticed that there is understanding when the mind is very quiet, even for a second; there is the flash of understanding when the verbalization of thought is not. Just experiment with it and you will see for yourself that you have the flash of understanding, that extraordinary rapidity of insight, when the mind is very still, when thought is absent, when the mind is not burdened with its own noise. So, the understanding of anything—of a modern picture, of a child, of your wife, of your neighbor, or the understanding of truth, which is in all things—can only come when the mind is very still. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti

It is actually a calm mind that can act correctly in the midst of danger. An emotional mind usually errs and exacerbates the situation. ~ Jaggi Vasudev

Mandukya Upanishad:

1. Om, this syllable, is all there is.
The meaning of this is that om is all there is at present, all there was in the past, all there will be in the future, and whatever else beyond all these three.

2. All that we see (the universe without) is Brahman. And all that we do not see (the Self within) is Brahman.
This Self subsists in four states.

the foolish think that I have form,
unaware of my eternal,
incomparable higher being."

7.25: "Hidden by my magic power,
I am not manifest to all;
this foolish world cannot percieve
me as birthless and eternal."

The average man is ruled by the explosions of his emotions, and cannot think clearly. ~ Yogananda

Conflict is always emotional. – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Emotions arise from thoughts which arise, in turn, from foundational belief structures about the nature of Reality and your own innate identity. ~ Metta Zetty

The conflict in the world is not between good and evil, as is so often projected. The conflict is always between one man’s belief and another man’s belief, whether it is within the family or between nations. The moment you believe something, you are in conflict with the opposing belief. You can postpone it with moderate talk. But conflict is inevitable. ~ Jaggi Vasudev

Ego is complete identification with thought and emotion. ~ Eckhart Tolle

Be aware that what you think, to a large extent, creates the emotions that you feel. See the link between your thinking and your emotions. Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them. ~ Eckhart Tolle

Without sattva you can never reach the Supreme.Wherever you are, in whatever station, from there you have to reach sattva in varying degrees because tamas will be reduced only when the mind's agitations, vikshepas are quietened. As agitations quieten, sattva increases slowly. ~ Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati

~ Swami Chinmayananda

Mind at rest is the Temple of Joy. So long as it is gurgling with its desires, passions and attachments in its stormy surface, the signature of joy gets ruffled out. ~ Swami Chinmayananda

Spiritual unfoldment cannot take place merely because of an intellectual appreciation of the theory of perfection. Evolution takes place only when a corresponding change in the subjective life is accomplished. ~ Swami Chinmayananda
