Aigiri Nandini, my effort

View at own risk. You have been warned! Seriously, I just did this tonight. The “this” is adding the chords and being able to sing/chant the two verses. Chanting all 21 verses would be a bit of a challenge. But I hope Goddess Durgā likes my little effort. Credit and thanks to Goddess Saraswatī for helping me.

Thank you! I will keep practicing it to add a few flourishes. I’m noodling around with the bass tab too. One can only improve.

Heard it today (by using ear plugs) and liked it. Normally I keep the sound off. The earlier like was for your effort. I will check again, though I am satisfied with your pronunciation.

Thanks. I’m trying to get my pronunciations as close as possible. A Russian acquaintance once said my pronunciation of (my little bit of) Russian was very good. He said I have an ear for sounds. He asked if I have a music background. Well yeah, kind of.

Jai, I was thinking about the stotra. It is not a Krishna bhajan, so how could it be rendered more as music and not as a mantra? If I get some eureka inspiration, I will inform you.

Believe it or not there are a lot of stotra and mantras that are set to music. I have a pretty large YouTube playlist I’ve converted for iTunes.

I don’t think they have the same sound energy as chanting live. They become songs. One I’m working on is Govinda Adi-Purusham from the Brahmā Samhitā. George Harrison arranged it for the London Radha-Krishna Temple.
