I have a theory...

So, this is how Jesus is often portrayed:

JC2021.jpg

And this is how God "The Father" is often portrayed:

God.jpg

Both have long, straight hair

And both have beards

Here is my theory:

They are both the same person!

Only one is of the same person when he was young, and the other is the same person when he was elderly

When God manifested himself on Earth he did so as Jesus

Right now, Jesus is up in Heaven, but his appearance has aged (from the first pic to the second) so as to give him greater seniority and gravitas and to reflect the passage of time that has occurred since he walked the Earth

So... when people purport to have seen God when they see an old man in the sky they have in fact seen Jesus, who is the primary means through which God interacts with humankind, alongside the Holy Spirit

I don't think God "The Father" looks like anything and that neither does the Holy Spirit

So whenever people draw or paint God it is necessarily Jesus in particular that they actually draw/paint

Only sometimes he is depicted as he was when he walked the Earth and at other times he is depicted as he is right now, up in Heaven (although people mistake mature Jesus with God The Father - they think they are drawing God The Father but are in fact drawing mature Jesus)

I believe that when Jesus returns he will do so as an old man, not massively geriatric, but perhaps in his late 60s or early 70s

Basically, when he returns I believe he will look like how people imagine God "The Father" rather than looking like he is normally depicted. And that people have unknowingly been depicting God as an old man to prepare the people of Earth for the return of Jesus, in which Jesus will return as an old man

When he comes a second time, when people look at him they will see an avuncular and fatherly figure, which is I believe how God wants to present himself to humankind

He will look like he is normally portrayed, only aged about 30 or 40 years!

Edit: I know that those are not actual pictures of God and Jesus.

But I believe that God is sensitive to the beliefs of humans

So that when presenting himself to us he does so in our terms, based on what we expect and imagine about him

So my theory is that when Jesus comes down he will be older than when he first walked the Earth and will look like how people imagine God, so that people think of him more as being God than being Jesus

FYI, those aren't actual pictures of Jesus or God, and bear no relation to what they look like!

I know that, lol :D

But I believe they are inspired

And that when Jesus returns it will be as an old man

Because he knows we will be expecting someone in his early 30s

I believe he wants to confound our expectations like that

Both are Lies, Eddi.
Jesus NEVER looked like that.
God doesn't look like that.

If you think that Jesus really looked like that then you cannot possibly have commenced any journey towards any kind of truth. And so the very first thing you would need to do, imo, is to set off on an educational mission to discover what Jesus probably looked like.

I understand that

This is what anthropologists think Jesus most likely looked like:

Everyone know Jesus is half God, he got his blue eyes and blond hair from God, because everyone knows God is white!

I actually imagine God as being a black man

And think that Jesus most probably looks Jewish

But in our Western culture God is normally portrayed as being white because those who have done the portraying have been white

Hence when dealing with our Western culture God presents himself accoridngly as he is most commonly portrayed as being white

However, I think it would be cool if he presented himself as being black - and even more cool if he did so as a woman

The thing is though, if he's going to adopt a human body then he has to choose a race, he cannot be ethnically neutral as there is no such thing as that

Do you think Jesus can be viewed differently by different people? We've all got a different expectation of what he'd look like if he came back. I expect this:
black-jesus-scafa2.jpg
Except he'd probably have on a shirt, otherwise he'd have trouble getting into businesses, and Jesus is no fool.

It's true that Jesus is the Ancient of Days. He's one and the same.

Yes, I expect that Jesus could have looked like that reproduction of a Palestinian peasant from early 1st century Galilee.
If you believe that Jesus will 'come down' then, fair enough. That's what you believe.
If you believe that God looks like a human, then fair enough. That's what you believe.
If you believe that Jesus is God, then fair enough.

Oh we can go there, dude! :D

Sekhmet's name comes from the Ancient Egyptian word sḫm, which means "power or might". Sekhmet's name (Ancient Egyptian: sḫmt, /'sɛχmit/, later Old Coptic: ⲥⲁⲭⲙⲓ) is thus translated as "the (one who is) powerful or mighty".[2] She also was given titles such as the "(One) Before Whom Evil Trembles", "Mistress of Dread", "Lady of Slaughter" and "She Who Mauls".

I don’t know does Jesus look older. It is possible that he looks the same as when he left. I think it would be best to know Jesus from his words, not from his face, otherwise you could be misled.

Also, I think it would be good, if Christians would know not to make images of God, because:

You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Exodus 20:4-6

So, he looks like Biden, who is often depicted in cult media as a saint or higher? :D

I dont' think its right of you to take up time and space on a serious forum with your joke. And just in case you are serious, it is the height of irrationality to say that two people are the same person simply because they are both bearded men in portraits.
