I know today I would be strung up by the heels, but back in the late 60's when I was in school at the top of New York State, the winter temps would get to -30 and below. I bought a raccoon coat off someone and was warm. When we moved to CA it was given away.

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
Evidence of Fur and Leather Clothing, Among World's Oldest, Found in Moroccan Cave | Science | Smithsonian Magazine

"Fur is a controversial fashion statement these days. But stepping out in a wildcat cape or jackal wrap was de rigueur for Pleistocene humans, according to the recent discovery of a 120,000-year-old leather and fur production site that contains some of the oldest archaeological evidence for human clothing."
You can have my fox fur cape when you prise it from my cold, dead shoulders.

When I was in college I would regularly dress in a wool tunic and a coyote pelt across my shoulders. I'd even go to classes like that. I still do that outfit for Renfest, and have now even lined my cloak's hood with rabbit fur.
