Jesus said that you have only one teacher, the Christ. Paul said Christ is all and in all.

So why do Christians seek teachers apart from Christ?

Is Christ something within self? Jesus alluded that Christ comes within us and told Peter to feed his lambs which is a symbol of Christ in men. John 21:15.

Why not be still/silent and know God vs believe it in another?

Are you listening?

Let’s use Buddha as an example. For me, my assumption is that God didn’t abandon everybody else besides the Israelites, before Jesus Christ was born. What about all the people of India, who had no access to Judaism? Were they just screwed because they didn’t have the right religion in their part of the world? I believe that God cares about them and is merciful enough to send them a teacher. The Baha’i faith teaches that there has been various messengers of God dispersed throughout all of civilization throughout all time. God isn’t region locked to one area.
Upon reading what the other teachers have to say, they say what Jesus says. They don’t contradict Him. The teaching from both the Buddha and the Christ is that God is love, is love, is love.
Hope I made sense

I would disagree with this. The theology of salvation is that we do become Christ in spirit. So when we die, and God sees us, if we are saved, He sees Jesus Christ in our stead.
With the Holy Spirt, it enables us to emanate the Christ in our mortal life. The term Christian means Christ like, it is our command to be like Christ.
So I disagree, from my own personal experiences, Christians believe that their souls have become completely unified with Christ. If not in this world, well surely in the next they will be Christs.

being connected to something is not the same as that something

Jesus said I and the Father are one. That I am in the father and the Father in me. This is Christ consciousness and not by some linear thinking.

1 Corinthians 2:16

To be baptized in the name, exodus 3:14, is to know that I am in the creator and the creator is in me. To understand that I AM god and there is no other, is to know God is and the personality is temporal. The flesh counts for not
