Experiencing the world from a point of silence.

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
Today is the third day living in complete silence. It has a deep effect on the thought level. a deep effect on being conscious of everything that happens in the near surrounding.
Experiencing new sounds, new smells, actually being aware of how noisy this world has become.

There is an aspect of disappearing in plain view

Another aspect noticed is that what is said in "conversations" is not muddled by not being present in the moment, where thoughts are on different things or finding topics "boring" being silent means listening with every senses aware of the moment.

Are there difficulties being silent? Yes, it is difficult in the sense of giving an answer takes a long time when everything has to be written down, then shown to the person who asked.
And not everyone seems to "accept" the mute person in front of them

Have you heard of Meher Baba, who is famous for his vow of silence.?
"When He first undertook his Silence, on July 10,1925, He stated that it was because of the heavy spiritual work which lay ahead for Him, indicating a general increase in chaos and conflict in the world. "

See Meher Baba's Silence (meherbabainformation.org) for more detail.

Yes, I do have heard about Meher Baba :)
At the moment I have not taken a vow to stay silent, if it happens it will come naturally to me later on, But for the time being, I only chose to stay mute. The time of silence has truly opened the senses and the attention to what actually happening around me has highten a lot

Have you considered joining a monastic order? There are some Christian monasteries where the monks take vows of silence. I don’t know if there is any Sufi equivalent - perhaps not, as monasticism is not an Islamic tradition?

The order i do belong to can be monastic in the tarika, but for me that would mean travel to America where my teacher is located :)

For now I will stay as I am :)
