Matthew 16:18

What has Exodus 12:27 got to do with Jesus ?? Because of what Paul said ???! So, Christians like you look into the OT and found the term ‘Passover sacrifice’ in Exodus 12:27 and connect that with what Paul said in 1 Corr.5:7, just like how Christians like you connect the phrase ‘I am’ in John 8:58 with the phrase ‘I Am what I Am’ in Exodus 3:14 and claim Jesus is the great ‘I Am’ because God also said ‘I Am’, when the passages of John 8 and Exodus 3 are NOT even related to one another ??!

So, let me repeat my question again - quote a verse or passage in your own Bible where Jesus said or implied that you must believe he came to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life. Question is – can you??
Yes I can.. Jesus came to be sacrificed!
Adams had to be repaired Adam corrupted God' perfect creation! Until sin entered creation no one there was NO death!
Scripture... "The wages of Sin is death"!

JerryMyers Jesus had to die sinless so death could not hold him in the grave.. ALL ADDED to the risen can't die body of Jesus will also NEVER DIE!
Jesus could NOT die if first he was not born.. Jesus was born a man so he could die as a man!
You wanted scriptures I gave you scriptures..
52 Then the Jews and JerryMyers began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Christians have faith in Jesus... Ignatius is a Christian! He is NOT a Jew!
Ignatius of Antioch
“I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ . . . and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible” (Letter to the Romans 7:3 [A.D. 110]).

Don’t think many Christians will agree with you on that, that is, believing ’literally eating Jesus’ flesh’, at least not the Christians I know, who, according to them, most Christians would know when to take Jesus’ words literally and when to take them figuratively. but, that’s not the gist of my question.

So, let me try to put it differently – whatever, you choose to believe, you believe because you want to have the eternal life, right? Else, why would you choose to believe a certain belief?

Christians believe Jesus died for their sin and this belief will save them and take them to the eternal life. But is that what Jesus preached or is that the preaching of some other people, which over the ages, has been taken as the ‘truth’. As the saying goes, ‘If one keeps telling the same lie over and over again, one day that lie will be accepted as the truth’.

So, how do you know, this preaching of ‘Jesus must die for the sin of man so that upon his death, mankind can be saved and have eternal life’ ?? The logical and rational answer is to find out whether Jesus himself believed in such preaching. If Jesus himself believed in such preaching, then, he would have said it or implied of such preaching to his disciples. Thus, my question – can you quote a verse or passage in your own Bible where Jesus said or implied that you must believe he came to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life. Question is – can you??
These are the words of Jesus!
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.

JerryMyers Jesus is a Passover Lamb.. All Passover lambs MUST be eaten after the are slaughtered! I posted the scriptures already about "Jesus as Passover sacrifice"!

Rev 5:6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

No, YOU CAN’T because you have not answered my question.

I asked you to ‘quote a verse or passage in your own Bible where Jesus said or implied that you must believe he came to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life. Question is – can you?? and the best you can come out with is ‘Adams had to be repaired Adam corrupted God' perfect creation! Until sin entered creation no one there was NO death! Scripture... JerryMyers Jesus had to die sinless so death could not hold him in the grave.. ALL ADDED to the risen can't die body of Jesus will also NEVER DIE!
Jesus could NOT die if first he was not born.. Jesus was born a man so he could die as a man!
Absolute nonsense !! Why?? Because you have not shown any verse or passage that quoted Jesus as saying or implying he came or was sent by God to die for your sin – it’s that simple !! So, all your comments are just white noise trying to drown the true words of Jesus.

You wanted scriptures I gave you scriptures..

Do you know why the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves as recoded in John 6:51-52 ?? That’s because they and Dogknox20 understood Jesus’ words LITERALLY! Then again, because the Jews understood Jesus’ words in John 6:51-52 LITERALLY, it doesn’t make sense to them that Jesus would be offering them his flesh and blood to be consumed, unlike Dogknox20 who would have already taken out his barbeque set and wine glass, ready to grill Jesus’ flesh – you should check whether you have a cannibal in your lineage!!

If you understand Jesus’ words LITERALLY, then answer me honestly – do you really believe you will never die and will live forever as Jesus said, “But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever...” (John 6:50-51) ??

Are the letters of Ignatius of Antioch part of the Bible ?? Did he live in Jesus’ times ?? Anyway, are you aware that even Christian scholars are debating on the authenticity of these letters with some of them rejecting all the letters?

JerryMyers Your words... to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life.
My reply... MUST EAT to have eternal life.. The people of Moses ATE the first Passover Meal in Egypt and were saved..... Jesus is the NEW Passover the Old has gone away Jesus is NOW who saves by eating his flesh and drinking his blood!

Scriptures.. Jesus is our Passover sacrifice! Scriptures.. Jesus was slain, he looks as a Slain Lamb sitting on his throne in heaven! FACT: All Passover sacrifices MUST be eaten!
JerryMyers Jesus is our Passover Sacrifice..

It really should be obvious’ does not apply in a forum board with members of various faiths and beliefs and because of that, it should be obvious (to you) that you need to explain to the readers why you quoted those verses.

When you simply quote verses from the scripture (which anyone can do) without any explanation as to why you quoted those verses, then, you are either unable to logically explain your understanding of those verses you quoted OR you are just assuming and hoping readers of your comments are of the same mind and belief as you, in which case, you are in the wrong forum board…..especially when you are just interested in quoting verses only and have no desire to offer any explanation as it might put you into some sort of debate.
Go ahead and believe anything you want to believe but I have no interest in trying to explain something that's actually so very obvious.

Also, maybe look up the word "essence" and how it relates to what the authors and early Church understood and used. Here, I'll help you: Essence - Wikipedia

JerryMyers please be patient with me...I know it would be hard to get your head around what Christians believe..
Christians believe the words of God, we believe the scriptures! Christians have FAITH in Jesus!
Jews do NOT believe in Jesus nether do you... Sorry!
I eat the flesh of Jesus every time I go to Mass.. He is present on the Alter.. Through the actions of the Priest; Ordinary Bread becomes the flesh of Jesus THINK... Our God the God of the Christian is almighty, he can do all things, he is perfect.. He can take the form of a burning bush, he can take the form of smoke or pillar of fire! A dove, a Man yes even bread!

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.
JerryMyers Priests have been "doing this" for 2000 years!

Jews are NOT Christians they reject the truth.. 52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

JerryMyers Look... These people also reject what Jesus told them; just as you reject his words.. These people below were Jesus' disciples
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him
.

Look what Jesus does... He lets them go away, in their unbelief.. Jesus does NOT call them back.. Jesus does NOT say "Don't go, I did not mean what I just told you!"
Jesus lets them go.. Fact is.. to make it even more clear....... Jesus turns to his Apostles and asks them.. 67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

Jesus was very very clear about being "The Bread of Life" he was very clear about being the "New Manna!"
JerryMyers It takes faith... Faith ALONE!

Now, why do I need to look up the word ‘essence’ when you have NOT explain anything as to why you quoted those verses in your post #108?? Even if you are now implying those verses you quoted are related to ‘essence’, you still need to explain how you came to that conclusion. You are in a forum board with members of different faiths and beliefs – so, what is ‘very obvious’ to you may not necessarily be very obvious to others. If your boss asked you to explain your team’s plan to increase sales for your company, you don’t tell your boss you have no interest to explain what is very obvious (only to you), now do you?

I just don’t get it why you have no interest to explain what you wrote when you are in a forum thread under the subtitle ‘Scriptural Debate’ and the reason you gave for your refusal to explain is that you don’t want to get into some sort of a debate??!! Suggest you just stay on the sideline, don’t comment on anything if you are not willing to explain and clarify further on your comments or you are not willing to be challenged….and just enjoy the show!

JerryMyers Your words... to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life.
If you want to quote my words, then, quote my words in its proper context instead of quoting in such a way that may. give the impression that I believe in your twisted belief that Jesus had to die for you to have eternal life. My words in context is - ‘I asked you to ‘quote a verse or passage in your own Bible where Jesus said or implied that you must believe he came to die for your sin so that by his death, you can have eternal life?’ Maybe that’s how Christians like you twisted Jesus’ words and the scripture to ‘tailor-fit' your false belief, but then, I am around to correct your mistakes or false perceptions, intended or not, of what I wrote whereas, Jesus, on the other hand, is not around to correct you and the church’s false belief about Jesus.

As for the rest of your comments here and your comments in your post #127, they are just white noise created by the early church and eventually, overtimes, adopted by the modern church, preachers, and the likes as the ‘truth’, and this ‘white noise’ is preventing you from seeing the true core Message of God and the core preaching of His prophet, Jesus.

So if you remove ‘the white noise’ which is preventing from seeing the real truth, you should see clearly the core Message of God and the core preaching of Jesus, which, I have summarized as below –

1. On Eternal Life – to have eternal life, you must submit and do the Will of God – “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven - Matthew 7:21.

So, who can enter the kingdom of heaven and have eternal life ?? ONLY the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven !!! No mention of must eat Jesus flesh or any other acts of cannibalism, which means, Jesus’ words of eating his flesh and drinking his blood are just 'figure of speech' and NOT to be taken literally!!

2. On Believing in Jesus AND believe in God to have the Eternal Life – believe in Jesus means to hear his words or to put in simpler terms, listen and believe in his preaching. Not only must you believe in Jesus’ preaching, but you must also believe in the One and Only God who sent him - “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life” – John 5:24.

Again, no mention of ‘must eat Jesus flesh’ or any other acts of cannibalism to have eternal life! Only lost souls will insist ‘MUST EAT (Jesus’ flesh) to have eternal life!!

3. On the True Savior – The One and Only God is the Only True Savior, so said God Himself - “I, even I, am the LORD, and APART FROM ME there is NO SAVIOR.” - Isaiah 43:11.

Jesus, like all prophets, can only guide people for them to be saved, and that’s why in his lifetime, Jesus is the Way, and that too, if they listen and believe in his preaching, so said Jesus in John 5:24 – “…whoever hears my word…”.

God, as the ONLY TRUE SAVIOR can save anyone He Wishes, while, Jesus, like all prophets, cannot save anyone he wishes – he, like all prophets, can only save those who believe and practice his preaching.

4. On the ONE and ONLY God and Savior – There’s ONLY ONE God and Only One True Savior, so said God Almighty Himself – ‘Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no God apart from Me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but Me. “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is NO OTHER– Isaiah 45:21-22.

So said Moses - “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is ONE!” – Deuteronomy 6:4

So said Jesus - “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is ONE Lord’” -Mark 12:29

Yet, Christians like you believe Jesus is also God and only true savior and one must believe Jesus died for all man sin to be saved WHEN God Himself told you EXPLICITLY there is NO God except Him and to turn to Him and be saved!! So, is the Christianity Faith today based on the Words of God and His prophet, Jesus, or on the words of other people like Paul???

So, when reading to understand your own scripture, don’t miss the forest for the trees, else, you will die in your sin.

JerryMyers Doing the will of the father is listening to Jesus his son! "Believe in Jesus and have eternal life" John 3:16
Ahhh, still trapped in the ‘white noise’ which clouded your mind and close your eyes to the truth.

Doing the Will of God, among other things, is listening and believing in ALL prophets of God, especially the prophet of the day. In Jesus’ time, the prophet of the day was Jesus, and so, for people to have eternal life in those days, they must believe in the preaching of Jesus AND believe in the One and Only God who sent him (John 5:24). In Moses’ time, the prophet of the day was Moses, and so, to have eternal life in those days, the people in Moses’ time must believe in Moses and his preachings AND also believe in the One and Only God (Exodus 14:31).

As of John 3:16, first of all, John 3:16 read “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”, and NOT “Believe in Jesus and have eternal life” – so, try to have some integrity and some minimal decency to at least, check what was actually written when quoting scriptural verses… or is that how Christians like you twist the scripture to tailor-fit your twisted belief??

Secondly, belief in Jesus Christ means to believe he is a prophet/the Messiah and to believe in his preaching, NOT in believing that he came to die for your sin....unless you can show me where in your whole Bible did God Almighty said or implied he sent Jesus to die for your sin OR Jesus himself said or implied he came to die for your sin. Can you ??? If you cannot, then, you are just blind follower of other people, NOT a follower of Jesus, and most certainly, you are NOT doing the Will of God.

Thirdly, believing in Jesus’ preaching alone will NOT give you the eternal life, BUT, you MUST ALSO believe in the One and Only God who sent him and this is made clear by Jesus in John 5:24 - “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word, AND believes Him who sent me, has eternal life”.

The statement ‘…. who hears my word’ is a reference to his preaching, NOT a reference to the twisted belief that he came to die for your sin – belief requires faith and NOT hear a belief, you can only hear words, and in the context of John 5:24, the word is the preaching of Jesus.

JerryMyers Christians have always eaten the flesh of Jesus! It Takes FAITH to believe the flesh of Jesus is real food! You and the Jews do NOT believe in Jesus..

When are you going to open your eyes and your mind to think logically and rationally that Jesus was talking metaphorically and NOT literally when he said ‘must eat his flesh and drink his blood’ ??

Most Christians today will NOT have taken ‘must eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood’ literally – only lost souls would have taken those words literally!

Tell you what – why don’t you check these 2 popular Christian sites and read for yourself whether they share your twisted understanding. Of course, ALL Christians believe Jesus came to die for all man sin (even when there’s no scriptural proof of that other than the words of other people), so, these Christian sites, expectedly, tend to steer towards that belief, BUT, what is clear, as far as literally eating Jesus’ flesh and drinking his blood are concerned, they DON’T share your twisted understanding –

….AND Simon Peter said to Jesus that they will stay because they knew Jesus has the words of eternal life that is, his preaching will guide them to the eternal life and they have believed, that is, believed in his preaching (John 6:68-69). Again, no mention of a belief that Jesus must die for your sin for you to have eternal life.

It is NOT cannibalism to eat the flesh of a lamb!
Did anyone say eating the flesh of lamb is cannibalism???! You should first check the definition of cannibalism before making a fool of yourself by making such a ridiculous statement!

Matthew 7:24Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Well, you should note in Matt. 7:24, Jesus specifically said ‘THESE words of mine…..”, so, what are ‘THESE words of mine’ ?? To know that you have to go 3 verses back - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” (John 7:21-23).
So, what are ‘these words..’ that you must listen to and put in practice to have eternal life ?? It's obvious Jesus was referring to his earlier words, ‘only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven’. Try to understand verses in their proper context.

Interestingly, Jesus said that NOT EVERYONE who called him ‘Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven (to have eternal life); Who call Jesus ‘Lord’ and prophesy in Jesus’ name and in his name drive out demons and in Jesus’ name perform many miracles other than the Christians??

So, which group of Christians who obviously believe in Jesus (that’s why they call ‘Lord’) BUT they will NOT enter the kingdom of heaven and on that day. Jesus will turn his back on them and will tell them, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers’?? Well, I will tell you – Christians like you - THINK ABOUT IT!

Even though this wasn't addressed to me, let me just say that it is posts like the above that makes having an intelligent discussion with you virtually impossible. How do you supposedly know what was in Jesus' mind? How do you supposedly know which souls are lost?

The strong impression I have is that you are far more into yourself than anyone else, including Jesus.

Jesus is the True Manna! Eating bread is NOT cannibalism!

33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
JerryMyers like you ..The Jews do NOT believe the words of Jesus! Christians believe the words of Jesus! Jews are NOT Christian.. Christians believe the words of Jesus
41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.

Not metaphor...
47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

JerryMyers Here is the difference between your god and Christian God.. The God of the Christian is Almighty he can do all things!
Your god is not almighty your god has limits on what he can do! The Christian God "Jesus" can take any form he wants to take.. "A burning Bush" a "Pillar of smoke or fire" a Dove or a Man Yes even the form of Bread!!
The True Manna is Living Bread; Bread that nourishes that gives life!

Christians have always eaten this Living sacrifice!
JerryMyers Paul is a Christian he eats the bread that gives life!
27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.

JerryMyers Judas ate and then Satan entered him... Judas sinned against the Bread of Life! Judas condemned himself! He ate a Damnation on to himself!

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh his own damnation, because he discerneth not the Lord’s body.
.
No, a man should thoroughly examine himself, and only then should he eat the bread or drink of the cup. He that eats and drinks carelessly is eating and drinking a judgment on himself, for he is blind to the presence of the Lord’s body.

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

Even though this wasn't addressed to me, let me just say that it is posts like the above that makes having an intelligent discussion with you virtually impossible.
You don’t have to wait to be addressed to you before you can comment – this is an open debate forum and unless specified, you are free to comment on any thread in this forum.

Then again, how do you have an intelligent discussion with anyone who is just good in quoting verses (which anyone can easily do) and refuse to explain why he quoted those verses and the reason….wait for it….because he did not want to get into ‘some sort of a debate’……in a debate forum??! I will say that makes having an intelligent discussion with someone like that virtually impossible, don’t you think so??

How do you supposedly know what was in Jesus' mind?
By his words and his works, of course. Didn’t Jesus said, ‘The works I do in my Father’s name testify about meJohn 10:25 ??

How do you supposedly know which souls are lost?
Easy - understand what God and His prophets said, and if you get diverted or digressed from them, then, you are a lost soul. For example, God Himself said He is the ONLY ONE God/Lord, and apart from Him, there’s no Savior - “I, even I, am the LORD, and APART FROM ME there is NO SAVIOR.” - Isaiah 43:11.

So, if you hold a belief that Jesus is also God and he’s the only true savior who came to save you by dying for your sin, then, you have ignored God’s Words in Isaiah 43:11. When God decreed that apart from Him, there is no Savior, it means EXACTLY just that = no one can truly save you EXCEPT for God Himself. Prophets, including Jesus and Muhammad, can only show the WAY to be saved but only God can TRULY save you and that’s why Jesus, in the Lord’s Prayer, taught you to seek forgiveness from God, not from him.

The strong impression I have is that you are far more into yourself than anyone else, including Jesus.
Well, your impression does not change the fact that Jesus never came to die for your sin and that’s why you will NEVER find a single passage in the whole Bible where Jesus said or implied he came to die for your sin or believing that will give you eternal life – PROVE ME WRONG!

Jesus said, "on this rock".
Does that automatically mean Peter? Is Peter the only rock? Is not Jesus a rock?
So when Jesus said, "this rock", why does one not think Jesus is referring to himself?
Because Jesus then names Peter (who was Simon up to that point) "Peter" (actually "Petros"... i.e. "rock").

It's pretty obvious in the passage.

JerryMyers Jesus meant exactly what he said.. He started off with "I Tell the TRUTH"!
My flesh is real food!
Jesus held up bread at the last supper and said.. "This is my body.. DO THIS in remembrance"! DO WHAT? Eat his body in remembrance!

You take the explanation of what Jesus meant by your web sites to do this you MUST reject the words of Jesus!

Verse John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
JerryMyers Do you see it.. HAVE SPOKEN this is (Past Tense) What are the words Jesus spoke? They are all the words above this verse! Believe the words Jesus SPOKE (above) and have life!

These words..53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Paul warns you that not recognizing the body of Jesus will condemn you! Judas ate then Satan entered him, Judas condemned himself by reject the body of Jesus!... LOOK..

68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.
)
Verse 70 (above) tells you Judas rejected the words of Jesus; Judas rejected the words that are full of the Spirit and life.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life” (John 6:63)

Right off.... Are you saying: Jesus spent most of the chapter John 6 saying his flesh is real food.. You MUST eat his living flesh.. Then he turns around and says.. "Forgetaboutit" all I just taught you is only metaphor it means nothing!

9-10ths_Penguin Second point... "The words I have spoken"! This is Past Tense! Question what are the word Jesus had spoken? The answer is .. They are all the words above! Believe the words and have eternal life! Believe the words "they are full of the Spirit and life”

Third Point...
9-10ths_Penguin Are you saying the Flesh of Jesus means nothing!? The flesh of Jesus died on the cross and rose again the Flesh of Jesus means everything!

Forth and most important point...
9-10ths_Penguin From verse # 45 down to verse #59 is the TEACHING of God..
45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.
59 He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

All in-between is God teaching you.. Eat my flesh it is LIFE it is Spirit! All in-between except verse #52 52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Jews are NOT Christians .. Christians believe the words of Jesus.. Martin Luther ate the flesh of Jesus! Christians have always eaten the flesh of Jesus!

Just noise and more noise!!

You are SO delusional that you missed the message of Jesus in John 6 and just saw FOOD in the form of Jesus’ flesh and a glass of Jesus’ blood!!!
The fact that Jesus said, “the flesh counts for NOTHING (John 6:63 which you quoted), should be clear to you that Jesus was speaking metaphorically as it would be silly and ridiculous for anyone to think Jesus was speaking in its literal sense, offer his flesh to be eaten and then say the flesh counts for NOTHING! That’s like someone gave you a luggage bag full of money and then said those notes are counterfeits and count for nothing! Only idiots with mental problems will still believe the counterfeit notes are legal tenders. In you, Dogknox20 is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah.

As to why the apostles accepted the words of Jesus - that’s because they NEVER took Jesus’ words literally as you did. The disciples knew Jesus more often than not, speaks figuratively, metaphorically, and in parables. In fact, they asked Jesus why he speak to the people in parables (which obviously confused the people as they tend to take the words literally just like Dogknox20) and Jesus said the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to the disciples thus. they can understand him but not to the people and that’s why they tend to take his words literally and NEVER understood Jesus’ words. So, Jesus said of these people and Dogknox20 – “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand, In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving, For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes’” – Matthew 13:13-15

AND you STILL have not answered my questions – if you took Jesus’ words literally, then, do you believe, by eating Jesus’ flesh, you will live forever? Have you drunk deadly poison to prove your faith and belief in Jesus?? Do you have a problem in answering them truthfully??
