These ones described as male virgins.....you can’t believe that these 14,000 specially selected humans are physical virgins any more than you can assume that they are all males. Their “virginity” is spiritual because some of the apostles (e.g. Peter himself) were married (Mark 1:29-31) and as the first “popes” were.....as were many of the first Christians who were promised a role in the heavenly kingdom. When did Christ ever forbid people to marry? That was a sign of apostasy. (1 Timothy 4:1-3)

It means they did not commit adultery or fornication, and drives home the point that they were still virgins. I don't think it means that having marital sex is wrong. Nor do I think you can say that the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation are all men who remain virgins.

I believe the way it works is this. Your premise that a king has to have a direct male lineage to Jesus is false. That is a man made rule. What God said was that the King would be of the seed of David and Mary is. That makes your conclusion false.

The logic is thus:
God said the King would be of the seed of David.
Jesus is of the seed of David through Mary.
Jesus is qualified to be King.

Again, there has to be direct paternal descent for this to come true.
