Vaccine mandate for all state workers in Washington State

We Never Know

No Slack
I would prefer it be a choice of course. If it gets worse then it gets better, it might have to be mandatory. I think it’s like that way in NSW right now as even retail workers are mandated for vaccination. But they’re getting ravaged at the moment, so I don’t think they have much of a choice. It’s probably not like that in the US yet. I hope

Well they have tried....
-fear: you could very easily die if you don't get vaccinated
-praise: good for you for doing your part and getting vaccinated
-bribary: $25, $50, etc or be put in a lottery (up to a million) if you get vaccinated.
-....there's nothing left but force

I'm not a conspiracy person but when it is playing out just like the above, in my opinion its not a conspiracy, its reality.

Note that the mandate doesn't apply to all workers,
just those employed by the state & those who are
licensed in health care.
This is within their purview, & reasonable. As an
employer who is responsible for the health of its
workers, the state has a financial interest in this,
& in protecting other workers.
As for licensed health care workers, licensing law
requires many many things of licensees, eg,
education, conduct on the job, competence, conduct
in public, ethics, safety protocols.
Requirements dealing with safety comport with things
normally required.

Sometimes the state will use severe coercion when
public health is at stake. For example, you can put
legal things in your body, but you will face prison if
you put psychoactive drugs in it, & then drive or fly
a vehicle. This is because the risk taken is imposed
on others.
But note that the state is extending this coercion
only to its employees & licensed health care workers,
not the general population.

Yet. It may or may not come to that.

The part relevant to the OP is the basis for illegality,
ie, the danger posed to others.
Yet. It may or may not come to that.
I think it unlikely that a requirement that all people
get vaccinated is unlikely. But if anything worse
than the Delta Plus emerges, that could change.

Consider that there is no constitutional authority
to ban residential evictions, but they're doing it
anyway, the Constitution be damned.

This whole reaction against so called “forced” or mandated (PC term) vaccinations is interesting to me. I only ever see it from the conspiracy theory types where I live. Seems much more prominent an attitude in the US. Just an observation.
It’s a pandemic guys. I don’t like masks, I hate signing in wherever I go. I don’t like the government at all. Bunch of pretentious idiots, you ask me. But that doesn’t mean I throw a temper tantrum and just say “not doing it, nah nah nah nah.” That just prolongs this whole thing

The whole mask thing seems to be a real point of contention. I was listening to the radio earlier today (or maybe it was yesterday), and they had Senator/Doctor Rand Paul on. He's a medical doctor and is disagreeing with the CDC guidelines. They were talking about how he was banned from YouTube for seven days, claiming that they're trying to "censor the truth" and feed more and more into the conspiracy theories and cries of "hoax." I've heard claims that the mask mandates are just a way of training people to be compliant with whatever they're told.

I don't know where it all comes from or why it's taken hold. But in the meantime, it appears that a lot of unmasked, unvaccinated people are planning to stay that way, while continuing to go about their daily business and conduct their lives as if there is no pandemic. It's going to be a wild ride.

Oh are you talking about Alex Jones the radio and TV personality from Sky News Australia? (Our equivalent of Fox News)
I know they recently got suspended from YT for spreading false COVID information which is apparently against their guidelines. Maybe he was just repeating this claim, idk

Note that he is not expert in epidemiology or virology. He's
just an ophthalmologist. Eye surgery is an unrelated field.

Fortunately, some businesses will require that they mask.
If they don't like it, they'll find their opportunities limited.
I know anti-masker anti-vaxers who are stuck complying
out of convenience.

In my opinion any thinking person should know by now its not a hoax.

WA Announces Vaccine Mandate for State Workers, Health Care

What to know about Washington state’s COVID vaccine mandate for state employees, health care workers
It's simple really. The state of Washington doesn't want to pay extra to the hospitals because some people are too stubborn to take a stinkin vaccine which could help stop this whole ordeal.

Or, you are welcome to quit your job with the state and take your gamble with the pandemic and pay your own bill for getting sick.

I think if people are too stupid to understand the science and mechanics behind quelling a pandemic, those who are in a position of making the uneducated or conspiracy experts get a vaccine, are correct in doing so in order to try to stop the PANDEMIC.

No one will be having their precious little freedoms to decent when their actions literally make life and death decisions for the rest of humanity who are attempting to survive.

No, it's the guys who took over Rush Limbaugh's time slot, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton. I only really listen when I'm driving; they're on the same news station I've listened to for more than 40 years. They used to be pretty decent, but not so much lately. Their only saving grace is that the music radio stations suck so bad that I can no longer tolerate listening to them. I have my own playlists.

Or I could retire tomorrow and collect my pension still have the same health insurance.

The people who are gambling are the people who are socializing going to large sporting events and concerts. Vaccinated or not, they are spreading the virus all around all because they are basically selfish and they "want their lives back."
No one will be having their precious little freedoms to decent when their actions literally make life and death decisions for the rest of humanity who are attempting to survive.
The precious little freedoms people don't want to sacrifice are their social activities, entertainment, travel, all the things that are unnecessary for survival. I consider this selfish, and then they say that the unvaccinated are selfish. If I wanted to have any contact with people I would be vaccinated, but as it is I only see cats, raccoons, possums, squirrels, and my husband.
