Duskdreams

Meow Mix

Chatte Féministe
(This is probably a work in progress, was done stream of consciousness style)

You know where to find me
On the patio, where all days must end
When dusky skies hold cerulean hue
With fresh eyes
Be still with me, come see
The spider sit on gossamer throne
And smoke, exhaled, curl under the awning.

In the uncertain hour before meeting
What paths will you take?
On the way,
Will you hear the tinkle of the piano,
Will you pass through the dust of butterfly wings?

You know where to find me
Just follow vulnerable sounds
Of solemn reverie.

You write very elegantly, Erin! I tend to write like a drunken dog, I write to make people have a metaphorical trip, to look at themselves rather than look at me and appreciate me. But hopefully I come off as cute in my own way, rather than intimidating :3.

I disagree, I just read your other poem. I think you write like me, maybe stream-of-consciousness, just flowing words and concepts, and then connecting them? Your poem is great.

Reading your own poems is hard because you're going to be so self-critical. I don't remember I posted a poem and just let it live there without putting up a disclaimer like "sorry this sucks" or "work in progress" even though I know damn well that it is what it is.

I find it helps to read very deliberately like it would be read out loud, rather than just the neutral internal monologue.

Also, v cute ^.^

Aww, thanks Erin

I hope my personality is cute, because without cuteness, I have little going for me. I say things like "I'm a marshmallow. I like the world. But bolt it down so I don't eat that too." that can come off as a little crazy if I don't have cute going for me.

I think you're a lovable person, Erin, and your poetry is great. I'm a little rough around the edges. But a friend of mine once taught me a word, it's not as deep and commited as "love", but it's "luff". So I will say I luff my Erins - I wanted to say this while I'm in a chipper mood before another wave of coughing or brain fog. It may be a little too open and friendly for the forum, I don't know, but I want to be that way and let people know beneath my tough exterior I appreciate them, because we live in crazy times where one can catch covid, and then you just never know. Not like you can tell people you appreciate them from the grave.

But you know me. I'm spoopy ghost :ghost:

Sure is cute boo ^.^ If you keep complimenting I might eventually know what to do about compliments (just kidding, I will never know what to do with compliments) <3

We've gotten along since I first came back. And lines like "I'm a marshmallow" rock my sox.

Luff is a pretty good word too, I approve.
