Have you received a mantra diksha?

Have you received a mantra diksha or mantra from a Guru that you chant regularly? If yes, would you be comfortable sharing your experience and practice?

Yes. Na Ma Si Va Ya ... one round (108 beads) a day since 1984. Consistently every morning, more rounds while on pilgrimage, or during festivals.

So is a different mantra given to each person?

Be your own guru
No, but then I do not need it. I am already enlightened. And Mantra Diksha does not guarantee enlightenment. With a wrong guru it may mislead.

Not in this incarnation. ;)

I’ve selected ॐ for myself and chant that during morning meditation, sometimes chanting the Pavamana Mantra as well.

I like the pranava, too. It's nothing fancy or available only in a particular sampradaya. Some of my best meditations involve simply focusing on that one syllable that's so praised by the Upanishads.

I chant "Om" regularly (Mandukya Upanishad).
There is a sense of connection with something deeper/larger.

No guru at all. When I chant it’s om namo bhagavate vāsudevāya. “Reverence/obeisance to the Lord in all”.
