Here are some of the worst earthquakes ever: The Antioch (Syria) earthquake in 526 A.D. was devastating. It struck in the middle of the night and was followed by a terrible fire. It killed 300,000 people. The Shensi Province (China) earthquake in 1556 was the greatest natural disaster in human history. It also struck at night. It was so big that people felt it in over half of China. Many people died by fires, landslides, and floods. It is estimated that 830,000 people died. The Lisbon (Portugal) earthquake in 1775 was huge. It was followed by 3 more shocks, fires, and a tsunami, or tidal wave, 60,000 people died. The New Madrid (Missouri) earthquake occurred in 1811. The town was getting ready for Christmas on December 16 when it struck. It was so big it rang church bells in Washington, D.C. 625 miles away. It was the worst earthquake in North America. The famous San Francisco (California) earthquake in 1906 struck on April 18. It took out the gas and electricity, 700 people died. The Valparaiso (Chile) earthquake in 1096 killed 1,500 people. Obviously some need to read what Jesus (Yeshua) said at Matthew 22:36-40, " Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul and with thy whole mind. 38 This is the greatest and the first commandment. 39 And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets." My original post was a human interest item related with the latest world tragedy.

My second response was to some one talking about and unloving act; to wit, the stoning of others for being sinners. This is wrong for two reasons, (1)We are all siners as you well know, (2) We should think about loving our neighbors and not about stoning them. There is already too much violence in the world, and the last thing that is needed is more violence. I abhore violence and believe all should be following what Jesus (Yeshua) said at Matthew 22:36-40, "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul and with thy whole mind. 38 This is the greatest and the first commandment. 39 And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets." There is never an excuse for violence.
