I believe after we die it's just like it was before we were conceived. But that may not mean we or our spirits cease to exist.

Looks like they believe the soul (or spirit) will temporarily be unconscious and later be resurrected.

I don't know if many atheist believe in a soul or spirit. Those that do more than likely its not connected to any beliefs in deities. Since what atheists believe in spirituality could be strict humanism or spirituality without deities really just depends. Though, since deities aren't needed for one to have an idea of the afterlife, I wouldn't be surprised.

Your spirit is your ghost. That is inside you while you are still alive. And that leaves your body when you die.:)

I have never heard of an atheist believing in a literal spirit.

Well, strict definition atheists don't believe in deities (Zues, Jehovah, a personified being etc) exist-reminding me of the Clash of the Titans. Spirits are said to be actual people who lived on earth not deities and not worshiped. So, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't see atheism as needing to be humanistic, just a worldview spiritual or not without the necessity of deities.

I have a friend who is atheist and did believe in spirits. Although reality killed his belief so now he doesn't

Oh,and as has been said before, atheism is not a religion. I just the same way as not collecting stamps is not a hobby and not playing football is not a sport

I don't believe that your spirit stops existing after you die, but eventually after Ragnarok when all that exists dies, I believe that the dead will die again too, but this time for good. So, our afterlife isn't eternal, eventually we all just cease to exist.

It would be like Casper 1995: Casper (1995) - IMDb and Casper 1995: Casper (film) - Wikipedia

I don't know of any religion that believes spirits are like casper. They normally describe it as an essence or so have you. That's how I understand it. Though, I never heard JW explain what they mean by not being such thing as a soul. If they mean Casper-like, then I guess some do. I don't know. Sounds a bit off to me--very.
