Duh. Your point is that I believe something that is not found in the Bible. Well, congratulations, Einstein. I could have told you that. And you have told me that it doesn't matter in the slightest to you that the Bible itself says that Jesus said and did many, many things that were never recorded. You continue to ignore that and insist that if something is not in the Bible, it's merely an "invention."
//Duh. Your point is that I believe something that is not found in the Bible. Well, congratulations, Einstein. I could have told you that// Yes this is my point about Mormonism ,it believes and teaches things not found in the bible. Were not talking about car manufacturing, how to Juggle, or cake making. No I'm referring to soteriology, Jesus, the trinity , the atonement, the very components of salvation, how its appropriated, what the prerequisite is , Who God is , eternal matters and such .On all these matters Mormonism believes things not found in the bible.

If you want to quote me, Barry, for crying out loud, just use the quote function. If you want to just quote part of what I said, just move the ['/ quote'] at the end of my quote to the part of my quote you want to address. It's not rocket science, pal.

Yes this is my point about Mormonism ,it believes and teaches things not found in the bible.
Well, aren't you smart? We could have saved ourselves a lot of time if you'd just stated it that plainly a few dozen posts ago. Yes! Mormonism teaches things that aren't in the Bible! And thank God it does!

Good grief, man. Don't dig yourself any deeper into a hole than you already have. You claim that Mormonism teaches things that aren't in the Bible and then you give the Trinity as an example. That's just about the stupidest example you could possibly have come up with.

And the LDS perspective is that if God speaks, we listen. We don't try to impose a gag order on Him. He never said He's through talking to us, whether you believe that to be the case or not. Bible 102.
' Extra new revelation ' Yes this is what separates Mormonism from Main line Christianity . All the teaching that Jo Smith brought out is what we do not find said anywhere in the bible. This is the red flag for Christians and why no Christian denomination ever accepted Joseph Smith Doctrines.

Do you think Mormonsm teaches the same as Christianity on the trinity? Wow this will be interesting if so ?

Actually, Protestants don't accept Catholic doctrine either. So what's your point?

By the way, Latter-day Saints do not even pretend to be part of "mainstream" or "traditional" Christianity. We wouldn't dream of compromising our beliefs in order to be in your little club. But we absolutely do believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He is the only means by which mankind might be reconciled with God. And we don't appreciate people like you trying to misrepresent our beliefs just to make their own beliefs appear more valid. That, my friend, is a coward's way of dealing with differences.

Well at the start you implied that really we all basically believe the same things . That Mormonism really does hold to the same things as Christians believe only to discover thats really not true . As hopefully every can notice in this discussion.

Catholics also accept extra biblical sources and declare all non Catholics as ' separated brethren '

Did God used to be a man ? simple question?
Barry, I literally already addressed this, and you ignored my response to instead once repost this false claim.

You can believe whatever you want. But if you want to have a conversation with me or Katz or any other "Mormon", then you need to take the time & energy to listen.

LDS Christians are NOT Protestant Christians.

That's been stated many times, and you keep ignoring that statement. No one is pretending to join your Protestant club.

But LDS Christians DO acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God, salvation through Him, and all of the most central docterines that are also believed by Protestant Christians, Catholic Christians, etc.

Again I'm not protestant, so who's not listening? And again Mormonism does not teach Jesus Christ as the Son of God, salvation through Him, and all of the most central docterines that are also believed by Christians ,because words have meaning. The words are the same ' Jesus ' , Son of God , ' salvation ' ect but what's behind them is entirely different . When you say ' Jesus ' , you mean the brother of Satan . When Christians say Jesus, we mean the creator of the all things .

Jesus always was God (John 1:1-3; Col. 1:16-17). Since the Bible teaches that Jesus is God (John 10:30; 20:28; Heb. 1:8) and God is eternal (Psalm 90:2), then Jesus must have always been God.

John 1:1-3: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

Colossians 1:16-17: “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

And I asked you to provide me an example in which your personal beliefs disagree with Protestantism.

None of this ^ is accurate. You repeating these false statements over and over again trying to "inform" me of what "Mormons" believe is... frankly a really dumb display of willful ignorance. No Christian need act that way.

LDS Christians DO believe all of this ^. Beliefs that Jesus Christ has always been God, His eternalness, and creative powers are very much agreed on.

We could get into disagreements over different views on the mechanisms behind consubstantiality or creation, but those are nonessential discussions about Creedal statements.

So what are you? And why do you refuse to answer?

And again Mormonism does not teach Jesus Christ as the Son of God, salvation through Him
Of course we do. Why do you continue to lie? Do you not believe it's wrong to bear false witness? Or is that commandment not a part of the Gospel According to Barry?

When you say ' Jesus ' , you mean the brother of Satan . When Christians say Jesus, we mean the creator of the all things .
We've gone over this a million times. Both Jane and I have explained the LDS understanding of Jesus' relationship to Lucifer. Are you simply incapable of understanding plain English. How would it change Jesus' message if He had a rebellious brother in the pre-mortal existence? And we do believe Jesus was the creator of all "things." We don't believe He is our Heavenly Father, though, and the Bible doesn't teach us that he is.

Its all helping to see what Mormonism teaches thats different to Christians Teach and believe.
I certainly hope so, because you know what? 9 out of 10 people who are following this thread are going to think, "Jane and Katzpur are LDS. Barry is not. When Jane and Katzpur say what Mormonism teaches and Barry says they're wrong, I'm going to accept Jane and Katzpur's word for it. That Barry dude has got a few screws loose."
