Because "a gnostic" is the correct form of the indefinite article and if I said "an gnostic" then people would mock me and say "hahaha you don't even know it's a gnostic, not an gnostic. You are a dumb, dumb stupid head" and then I would cry.

Well, some of us were going to start an Agnostic Party, but we didn't know what the platform should be, and we didn't know when or where the party meeting would be.

So, it all just kind of fizzled out.
