Our relationship with the Divine helps us, i think, to better understand what our purpose is on this earth. But i think our purpose is to leave this world a little bit better than what we found it. That could be that you are to be a teacher to educate young minds, or an activist, or president, or even fulfilling the noble role of a loving parent.Sunstone said:

And I havent even gotten out of the book of Genesis.
Does anybody else feel that a meaningful PURPOSE has been fulfilled by surrounding themselves with entities that display these "merciful and gracious loving qualities"?
How many exemplary parents do you K(NOW) that threaten their children with death if they do not obey them?

Hmmm... Remember may, this was written when? Does the past matter more than the present? No, so what someone wrote long ago means less than NOW. The bible cannot tell me about now, so it has no use to me. If you have to use an ancient book to know god, or to know now, then I feel your knowledge is surely lacking. To know god without a book, to really know god. This is real knowledge. Is your purpose to know a book, or to know god? Right now you know the book pretty well. But I'm not sure about your knowledge about god.

(Isaiah 45:18) Yes, ever since the earth was created, it has been Jehovahs purpose to have it inhabited. Says Psalm 115:16: "As regards the heavens, to Jehovah the heavens belong, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.So the Bible shows that Jehovah created the earth to be inhabited by obedient humans, who would take care of it.Genesis 1:27, 28.
Did the rebellion of Adam and Eve cause Jehovah to change his purpose? No. How can we be so sure? Well, consider this point: The Bible was written thousands of years after the rebellion in Eden. If God had abandoned his original purpose, why is that not mentioned in the Bible? The obvious conclusion is that his purpose for the earth and mankind remains unchanged.
Jehovahs purpose never fails. Through Isaiah, God provides this assurance: "Just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it."Isaiah 55:10, 11.
Many who search for a purpose in life turn to the Bible and find great happiness right now. many find no meaning in life, The involvement of religion in war disgusted them and they are upset at the hypocrisy and corruption in politics. However, a regular and careful examination of the Bible helps them to recognize the true purpose of life and to find contentment.

Unfortunately THE BIBLE does not tell us how to fix it. THE BIBLE tells us that we must wait for Jehovah. If you have a broken appliance that is relevant to your survival (furnace, plumbing) do you wait for Jehovah or one of his angels to fix it? Or do you call a professional repairman to come over right away to see that it is repaired? This is our world, we are the repairmen, we are the only entities that can make the difference.
GOD: Armageddon, as it is portrayed throughout many religions, is spectacular. Now it has happened again, and society realizes that Jesus is not riding down on a white stallion. People have yet to hear the triumphant blaring of trumpets declaring MY name. YOU would think they would stop hoping in this way. This is not the case, so they keep re-creating Armageddon over and over.

GOD: It will stop when people awaken to the fact that they can bring about their own peace instead of destruction. I've given them everything they need to do this. They just have to shift their way of thinking. They waste too much time waiting for ME.

The heavenly King of that Kingdom is the resurrected Jesus. Preparing him for that positionas well as choosing humans to be corulers with himhas taken time. During all that time, God has exercised patience.

seriously, i don't know. i agree with painted wolf- we should ask questions that pretain less to ultimate truths, more to individual possibilities.

mans purpose on the earth is to worship woman. but his existence is to keep the world alive for as many generations that will come and he can guide. man is an explorer. he needs a spaceship to get to mars. the generation after next i hope will be much more advanced.but that halts money with a war.we lose original thoughts religions we are taught
