Women's Sports Clothing

I've always thought it odd that female athletes, eg, gymnastics, beach
volleyball wear such skimpy outfits. I'm not complaining, mind you.
But why such revealing garb so prone to entertaining malfunction?
Why would they want this?

Now I hear in the news that some are moving towards
less revealing clothing...hopefully more comfortable too.
Is This the End of the Gymnastics Leotard?

It's still perhaps TMI, but it's an improvement....

I find it equally odd that in recent years, athletic clothing has become very popular casual clothing. They don't look comfortable in the least.

I would say it's a mix of tradition and practicality. Having tight, flexible clothing without seams is comfortable to wear when your physical activity of choice involves moving around a lot. Of course, gymnastic disciplines almost all derive from circus disciplines and the allure of female performers always was part of the show in a circus. The olympian uniform were basically adaptation of professionnal uniform for that type of excercise. Ironically, no circus performer practicing a gymnastic discipline wears that type of costume anymore, they have grown much more elaborated and fantasist, with the exception of contortionists which hasn't become a sport in and itself. It stayed in the department of cringe inducing body horror show or something like that.

So, the "unitard" will replace the leotard?

I wonder if cheerleader outfits might change as well.

Yeah, I'm tired of people talking around wearing yoga pants. I don't need to see that. Lol.

Stop staring at them? Or do as Jesus told you and rip your eyes out if they cause you to sin. That would be the christian thing to do. He was referring specifically to men having "sinful thoughts" looking at women in that passage after all.

It's impossible to not stare.
The only thing controllable is the length of the stare.
We know that 2 seconds is too long.
But 0.5 second or less is acceptable.
In between that...it depends upon local standards.

I think you need to calm down, because it wasn't that serious. I have better tastes than to be turned on by someone in yoga pants, anyway. I just don't need to see your butt crack (and it's more than that with a female wearing them, lol) at the grocery store.

I'm not Christian, or attracted to women, and I'm sick of seeing it, too.

One is allowed to dislike the clothing choices of others. I know some people sure dislike mine.

Looking at something for 0.5 second doesn't constitute "looking fixedly" at something under any reasonnable definition of the term and that's what's staring is supposed to be.
