Are there people who are born healers? What about shaman? There seems to be an increase in alternative medicines. Do you think we will pull away from traditional medicine and more toward the alternatives?

I would say there are born healers and people who acquire healing abilities later in life. Whether you are born with these abilities or if they are acquired later I think the key motivation for why someone would become a healer or a doctor is because they developed a deep desire or concern to care for other people.

Chemical medicine really doesn’t leave us much choice but to lean towards alternative medicines. With all the side effects that are attributed to prescription medicines there are some cases that people may be better off without medicine and dealing with the original illness.

Interesting topic Lightkeeper but it would be interesting to hear from a professional and I do believe we may have a doctor in the house.

I've been told that I am a born healer, but maybe what I really am is extremely self-centered; because I can't stand to see a person in pain, physically, mentally or emotionally, I go out of my way to heal them. I can't handle the sight of blood, so I wouldn't be a good doctor or nurse, but I've done a number of things that I can't explain that seem to have helped people.

I think there are people who are born to be healers in the sense that they are naturally inclined to the medical field and have all the attributes a good caregiver would have. Whether they have supernatural healing powers....i'm not sure.

I agree that some are born as healers. But in some cultures shamans are born into the blood line as healers, and others are sought out and are taught the healing gifts. I guess it differs with everyone.

I do not think that we will "pull away" from traditional medicine - rather, the thinking public HAS ALREADY pulled away.

Here is just one example: There is an ever increasing interest in what is now called food supplements - natural herbal mixtures that have been used for centuries by ancient and modern native populations to cure all sorts of ailments. The evidence is - herbs work.

Pharmaceutical medicines come from herbs, too, but what our SO intelligent scientists have done is mega-concentrate those parts of the herbs that they think are doing the good work. Our bodies are not built to take this concentrated form - and shazaam - we get zillions of deadly side-effects.

Healthy food supplements, on the other hand, give us the whole herb to consume. (There is some evidence to suggest that the whole herb has elements in it that mitigate any negative consequences of eating the part of the herb that "cures" an ailment.)

I believe that this pharmaceutical vs. food supplement "controversy" is an example of nature "getting it right" all along - and us humans trying to be so smart and lousing up a good thing.

What do YOU think?

I think most "herbal" products are hooey... snake oil... pure fantasy. They are pushed by those wanting to benefit from the pain of others. They are as bad aas TV evangelists, faith healers and OTHER politicians. It is easy to get duped when you are hurting emotionally or physically.

Not that I would ever ascribe to being a part of the "THINKING PUBLIC". :D

I have been told by many Spiritualists that I am a born healer. I've had consultations with Spiritual Mediums who have said that I've got a healing aura, and ever since I've been able to communicate with the Spirit Realm, I've been able to offer Spiritual healing to near enough anyone who asks for it.

I believe that people are given the gift of healing by the White Spirits of the Spirit Plain, and that nobody should doubt that gift if they've been given it.

Depends Upon My Mood..
I think some are born healers..Even if they dont realize it..Expecially in the "emotional" world..Some people..just soothe your soul ..simply being around them..They have a "calming" prescence..A true gift...

Amen to that sister.

I believe, as I've already said, that there are born healers, but I also believe that anyone may call upon healing from the Spirit Realm, (as long as they know what to do).

The difference between a born healer, and someone that learns to heal is that the born healer will be much stornger in Spirit, and will therefor be able to give much more powerful healing.

A born healer is given the gift of healing by the Spirit People, and they will be able to give powerful healing to others, which will then have a knock on effect on their Inner Spirit, (basically strengthening it and making it purer).

Violet.
I have had success with a major self healing before,
and a recent situation has brought me back into that.
I am happy to say that I have come into a major progress of healing,
just over the last couple of days.
(as well as a major one a couple weeks back)

For me it hinges largely on the "idea" of
body/mind/spirit as ONE.
Connections must be made between the three,
and they must be healed "independently" together,
as they reflect one another.

"Casting" plays a major role in this.
"Casting out", "Casting" or "REALing" in,
and "Casting" as in "re-FORMing".

I am finding also that a pendulum is a wonderful way to "stir" the energy.
Spiral it down... or up... and raise frequency above dis-EASE.
I have not used one since the last time I dedicated myself to "healing" the water,
in which I was healing my self.

This is not something I could DO for another,
but I could aide them in it, if they were really willing.
To let go of stuff... and look at themself deeply and honestly.

If not? It wouldn't work.

I have met many who claim to have been healed by a faith healer. I believe that there are certain individuals who by the laying on of hands have the ability to heal. I don't think it is the power of the healer themselves, but they are the people who God uses as a medium or channel to do His healing. Or at least the use of a person as an intercessor to a higher power.

Yes, that's true. When I heal, I ask the Spirit People to use my body as a vessel of their healing. Basically, I ask the Spirit with love and respect to send their healing power through me and itno the other person.
