I get a twinge every time I do. Spiders I pick up and put them in the toilet. Flies I let out or let them die on their own. Wasps, I haven't came across that living here. But meat, I never really got it until I was watching YouTube videos on how they kill sheep, chickens, cows, and so forth. I could never be a hunter or anything like that. I was looking up google trying to find why we eat some animals and not others in the West say like dogs or cats. If we turned this around, if someone doesn't mind eating beef and chicken, why not pets?
You pick up spiders???
I recall being chased by a funnel web once. Lol I temporarily turned into an Olympic athlete

Personally for me as someone who is predominantly plant-based, I wouldn't mind eating eggs if I knew the chickens who laid them were raised humanely.
You could do what my neighbor does. He has his onw chickens and ducks. A few times he has given me duck eggs. Very rich and tasty. One duck egg is just about two chicken eggs.

My partner and I have talked about it. If we lived on more land, we probably would. He also is obsessed with the idea of having a goat? Don't ask me why, they don't seem pleasant to own lol.

Haha. We don't have killer spiders in this area. But yeah, I've always picked up bugs and spiders since I was young. My brother was the scared one... he'd call me up and say "UA, get this spider" and jump on the chair somewhere.

It's not the eggs themselves generally it's the conditions in which the hens are kept.
I'm able to buy eggs that are from chickens that walk around and are kept in decent conditions. I started buying them a month ago. They are marked 'Cage free' on the package.

I have been to South Korea, and dogs are high on menu, but not what we would call domestic cats. In China many in Northeast China have dogs in their menu. There are some cat-like wild animals that are delicacies among some minorities. Consumption of many different insects is common. I like the stir fried silk worm chrysalis (pupa) with hot pepper and hua jiao (flower pepper..
I don't know if I could eat that or not. However I do eat gummy worm's :p

Similar to us, except we have a dog and I wouldn't want to take space away from her. And I want to make sure the chickens have enough space as well.
He has a medium size dog too. It gets along with his chickens and geese. I better not forget the cat. The first time I noticed it in his yard I thought that it might be after his birds.

Bruh. I envy you lol
I remember coming back from a trip once only to find a wolf spider waiting patiently in my room. Yikes!
At least it wasn’t venomous, unlike the red backs hiding in your shoes though lol

I wonder if the ones that don't eat meat because of having to kill the animal ever kill spiders, flies, wasps etc. They shouldn't.

There is indeed a given balance in this world. The animal world is survival of the fittest and animals do eat other animals.

Some ancient cultures show how we can eat game we catch being merciful and being thankful to the life the animal gave to sustain our own.

Personally I see a day will come when we do not eat meat, but that will be a distant future.

Meanwhile we should show much kindness to animals, 0and if we eat meat, we should know the animal has not suffered and most of all we should be thankful.

That looks absolutely disgusting. :D

And the souffles, meringues etc on my list?

The brownies I made - your loss!

I've not really looked into the other items yet, but there are various egg replacements for different things. For instance, a friend has made lovely meringues using aquafaba, which is commonly used. Could never stand souffle ...

- What Exactly Is Aquafaba? And How Do I Use It?

Ultimately it's about what has happened in order to get something onto a plate and whether or not one is OK with that. I gave up some things I liked because the personal taste to me came at too great a cost. I used to love scrambled eggs but now I find the idea quite nauseating. It's in the head isn't it, not on the palate.
