Meanwhile at the border...

Seems she doesn’t care about all the people of color she is enabling across the border without Covid testing nor vaccinations.
I share your concerns regarding the well being of migrants. Now that there is an adequate supply of vaccines and resources. to administer them to most everybody I am disappointed in our V. P. for not having migrants being vaccinated against SARS-CoV2.

Actually, we do know the right would say exactly that. 100%. For that reason, all the fluff about how she's not there is just empty virtue signaling by the right who doesn't actually care about the kids at the border at all. Not a bit, or they would've been up in arms at the actual Trump policy which intent was to separate families that arrived together.
We don’t know any such thing. What we do know is that Kamala Harris was singled out to handle the border and that she hasn’t even been there. And apparently some want to excuse them. Those that do are enablers and worse.

Oh, but we do. Because we know how the GQP works. (Or doesn't.)

That it winds some of you up that she isn't there is fine with me. A visit isn't going to fix the border. You know it, and I know it. You're grandstanding, and I'm not buying it.

Well it seems we won’t know, though, will we? She’s too busy eating cake.
The German chocolate cake at the Brown Sugar Bakery is very delicious. I can't fault anyone taking a few minutes out of there busy schedule for that.

President Biden said Friday that illegal immigrants in the U.S. should be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine without fear of being targeted by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“I want to make sure they are able to get vaccinated and so they’re protected from COVID without the ICE or anyone interfering,” Biden said in an interview with Univision during a visit to a vaccination site in Texas. “They should . . . not be arrested for showing for being able to get a vaccination.”

The Department of Homeland Security announced earlier this month that ICE would not conduct enforcement activities at or near vaccination sites.

“It is a moral and public health imperative to ensure that all individuals residing in the United States have access to the vaccine,” the agency said in a statement then. “DHS is committed to ensuring that every individual who needs a vaccine can get one, regardless of their immigration status.”

The Biden administration has focused on creating equity in its vaccine distribution plans, working to target underserved communities as well as illegal immigrants.

“We do feel, as an administration, that ensuring that all people in the United States, undocumented immigrants as well, of course, should receive access to a vaccine because that one is morally right but also ensures that people in the country are also safe,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said last month.

Republican lawmakers in January sought to add a stipulation to Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief plan that would have moved undocumented immigrants to the back of the line for vaccinations.

“No vaccines for illegal immigrants jumping to the head of the line to get vaccines,” Representative Jeff Duncan (R., S.C.), the amendment’s sponsor, said when introducing the amendment. “They’ve done it once, by jumping to the head of the line to enter this country, and they’ll do it again.”

However, Democrats have argued that illegal immigrants hold jobs as essential workers across the country and withholding the shots from a swath of public-facing workers would not help slow the spread of the virus.

The wonder and awe of "all things".
People on the border -- they are...among the best of us.

They are you and me at our best, often.

I've known more than a few, in Austin in 27 years.

Honest, hard working people, and many would do anything to help you out. Salt of the Earth.

Q: Name one thing you won’t see at the border.
A: Kamala Harris.

I agree they do a lot of work. But they can also come here and do it legally with a visa if nothing else.
Not in the last 4 years they couldn't.

Legalizing people who come here for a better life and a willingness to work is what Biden (and I) are in favor of.

Yup. I want real action not empty virtue signaling.

Now let's see the right start to do the proper thing and allow those who did not have a choice to be brought here but have made lives for themselves to stay. DACA.

Oh wait, we don't want them lesser creatures here and will visit the crimes of the parents on them even though they're innocent of any crimes.

Oh wait, we need something to bash the Biden administration about the the Trump Politburo decided that the border was just the ticket.

If she was at the border, the right would criticize her for empty grandstanding, wouldn't they?
Only if she goes for photo ops in empty parking lots like aoc pretending she's traumatized by the horrors on par with Auschwitz.

So what. That's just political BS from the right wing. I'm looking for action which of course the right wing will block from being passed in Congress.

See? It doesn't matter if she does or she doesn't, the right will find fault with her either way.

In that light: Go team Biden/Harris!

What's the point if it's just photo ops?

It's not like the Democrats are actually going to do anything about it.

I admire how our V. P. has been busy with touring communities of color where she is persuading colorful skinned persons to overcome their hesitancy to get vaccinated against C. O. V. I. D. -19. I would consider this issue as taking precedence over a politicized photo op at the border.
She has how many ethnicities now?

I heard it was around 400 last count....

Amen! You might like the video in post 66 with Tish Hinojosa, well known in the Austin and many parts of Texas.

The problem in the United States is everything is politicalized which makes it worse. Covid is a great example of that.
If we had two party's that care about the people half as much as they care about themselves the US would be so much better off. Everyone wants to blame the other party and stay blind to they both are the problem in the US.
