I truly loathed that fashion (and i use the word fashion in its loosest possible sense)

I liked it with the pants like this: C1reVCKXcAASH2l.jpg

But don't like it when they do it with the thinner jeans that are popular now.

Just my very unpopular opinion.

Looks dangerous to me, danger of tripping or treading on the hem and removing the offending trousers completely.

And imagine walking in them while wearing loubies?

Honestly, I hate jeans. The only time I wore them were when these were available(which wasn't real long). I did enjoy these jeans.

You learned not to trip in them. The only time it was ever a problem was on the stairs, but you can have that trouble in a skirt as well. I personally did not wear them under my bottom, so I never worried about them falling off(though I did have other clothing betray me through the years).

I wouldn't have worn loubies in them. It wouldn't have matched.
