Until we figure out how to do it right, I think we're better off with lots of different governments. It gives us a better chance at finally getting it right.

My thinking is that we already HAVE a world government --in substance if not in form.

That's important because the form of a government is say, postage stamps w/ an impressive capitol building along w/ a single flag, etc. etc. otoh, the SUBSTANCE of a government is order, clearly enforced laws a spirit of community, etc. We got the latter w/o the former.

OK, someone's going to say we can't possibly have a single world government because we got blood shed, arguing, confrontation, people going their own way --and all I have to say to that is that those things can be found in EVERY existing national government today.

It would be nice to have a government with just the power to keep countries from going to war with each other.

All we have managed so far in terms of governing ourselves is a mutual affinity for greed. And this is not working well for us.

I'm in favor of a government lead by someone who implements justice, has the best interest of the people in mind, is honest (no lying, no corruption) and makes sure people have everything they need, while protecting the earth. That's it :)

It's not that hard to see how this could very well be your experience, yet at the same time what I see are a lot of very good people doing a lot of good things.

Maybe the difference in our views is a result of our attitudes, our desires, or maybe one or both of us is missing something.

Apparently Jesus advocated a one-world government -> God's kingdom (Daniel 2:44-45)
This is why we are to ask for God's kingdom to come...... (thy kingdom come....) - Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8
So, that God's will, His purpose be done right here on Earth as it is being done in Heaven.....
In Heaven there is No war, No crime, No violence, No pollution, No sickness and No death.
Thus, we are asking for those same wonderful conditions to come exist here on Earth as they exist in Heaven.
Through God's kingdom there will be ' healing ' for earth's nations - Revelation 22:2.

I see in MAN's history that MAN has had thousands of years to 'finally get it right', but what I find is what Ecclesiastes 8:9 says that MAN has dominated MAN to MAN's hurt, MAN's injury.
MAN's history thus shows that MAN can't 'figure it out', so MAN needs help and help is available if we want it.
This is where Jesus as King (ruler) of God's kingdom (Daniel 2:44-45) enters into our picture.
Only Jesus can and will bring ' healing ' to earth's nations as mentioned at Revelation 22:2.
Not just physical healing, but emotional, mental, and spiritual healing.
Healing to the point that Earth and its people will be healthy as described in Isaiah 35th chapter.
