Weekend Move

So, I moved into my apartment over the weekend. I have no furniture other than a folding chair, yet it still took two days to move my meager possessions. I am now a city-center dweller. I need milk, eggs and a few other items; unfortunately, the stores are closed for the holiday.

Good luck with your new life.

In need of basic foods, does your local service station/garage sell foods? In europe many garages have at least some basic items...

You remind me of a friend who lived the first two months in her new apartment on takeaway and using paper plates and plastic cutlery because she didn't feel like opening the boxes.
I think that either you find a way to get your groceries delivered, or you better have really nice neighbors.
Good luck.

I'm downtown, there are no service stations nearby. There is a Target a block away, but they are closed for the holiday. The Mexican place on the corner appears to be open, so I will probably grab a bite to eat there. I was at Walmart yesterday, and like the dummy that I am, I bought a carrot cake. I had forgotten about the upcoming holiday and just assumed Target would be open. :)

Congrats!
I like folding chairs, & have a collection of them.
Folding tables too.

I went to Goodwill last week and purchase one ceramic plate, one bowl, two forks, spoons, and knives. At the Dollar Tree I picked up two plastic cups, cutting board and a broom. I have the basics in cookware. All I need are eggs, milk, butter...etc.

It is a small apartment. The advantage of a folding chair is that it can be folded. I came in on Friday and mounted my monitor, computer, and keyboard to the wall.

When we moved to france we didnt have chairs, the local supermarket solved the problem, a folding plastic picnic table and 6 plastic chairs served for 2 month's

I have no room for furniture, really. But I like it that way. Right now I am sitting on the edge of my murphy bed while using my computer. If I find time, I will post a pic. I'm gonna take a shower, get a bite to eat and walk down to Pioneer Courthouse Square. It looks like it will be a nice day.:)

Congrats on the new place! When I moved to where I am in 2013 I was in the same situation for about a year. I slowly assembled furniture from garage sales.
