Because of an allegations in a lawsuit?

I guess you better stop going to Target, wearing underwear by Hanes, eating at McDonalds, having your taxes done by HR Block and so on. EVERYONE gets sued. Doesn’t mean the allegations are true.

I don't do any of those things, so I guess I'm okay!:)

Our neighbor used to have a chain of health clubs. To avoid hiring gays, he would ask them who Jesus Christ was. If they gave him an answer that didn't suit him, he refused to hire them because according to the Bible, they were liars, citing 1 John 2:22.

He was sued and lost. Had to sell his clubs and his home to pay the damages.

You interview people and listen to their accounts. You can't prove anything in a legal sense, but that's not the point. It's about understanding people's experiences in the world.
So you interview one side or both sides?

Maybe you missed...”and so on.” I guarantee the company that made the device your using to participate in this thread has faced such lawsuits. The company that made the car you drive. The grocery store you buy your food at. On and on it goes.

Another reason I just do not doubt anything about her story, and see it entirely on the Christian managers.
Discriminatory Decree: Indiana Judge Excommunicates 'Non-Mainstream' Religions
Marion County Superior Court Chief Judge Cale J. Bradford has drawn press attention for refusing to lift an order from a divorce decree barring Thomas E. Jones Jr. and his ex-wife Tammie U. Bristol from exposing their 9-year-old son to "non-mainstream" religious beliefs and rituals. Bradford's obstinance has prompted the Indiana Civil Liberties Union to ask the Indiana Court of Appeals to nullify Bradford's action.

Both parents, according to The Indianapolis Star, strenuously objected to Bradford's order that neither of them expose their son to Wicca, a Pagan religion that focuses on nature. Nonetheless, earlier this year Bradford refused to change the decree. According to the Star, Bradford based his action on a report from the state's Domestic Relations Counseling Bureau, which noted that the child attends a Catholic school. The report claimed the couple had displayed "little insight into the confusion these divergent belief systems will have upon (the boy) as he ages."
That happened probably about 15 years ago, but it's clear Christians haven't changed or learned. A lot of them think the world is still theirs to bend and shape to their will and desires.

Do you honestly believe it's just because they got sued?

Probably. But what for?

I probably wouldn't stop eating at a place that had been sued because someone slipped on their floor. I might stop eating at that place if I heard they were discriminating or harassing employees for religious reasons.

I think a whole lot more hidden discrimination goes on than we would ever know about. Employers can just do 50 interviews, and use any reason at all. Until underlying attitudes change, I can't see it changing much. It's just more underground now.

Bad manager.
bad !

I remember an episode of Murphy Brown, wherein
she fired a secretary for being a Satanist.
For an avowed liberal on a show that advanced
liberal ideas, she did some unprogressive things,
eg, sexually assaulting Frank.

Labels and reality don't always match.

All the companies named and many more of course, have been sued for religious discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination, sexual harassment and so on.

But it sounds like you make decisions based on the unsubstantiated allegations of a lawsuit, depending on what those allegations are. Is that correct?

A lot of things would depend on that.

It's clearly not because they were sued, it's because they were sued for being bigots.
Regardless of why a company is being sued, the lawsuit is still just unproven allegations. Companies get sued all the time, often for things that didn’t happen. Doesn’t matter if it’s a slip and fall or discrimination.

Except in this one it is something that Christians have a very nasty habit of doing. People want nothing to do with the church because of stuff like that. People are gaining a more negative image of Christians because of stuff like that. People don't even want to try church because of stuff like that. People leave the entire thing behind and never return because of stuff like that.
Now, truly I think it's awesome, especially when Christians get all defensive and deny everything and lay on those behaviors they are being charged thick and heavy as if they want to prove to the world they are very correct for seeing Christians as someone who lacks integrity. They just keep digging their own grave, completely and entirely making the job of an anti-Christ entirely unnecessary. That's how much damage Christians do to their own religion, because they act like the bunghole managers in the OP.
