Today i truly experience a test of my ego.

Just woken up, and was eating breakfast when the phone rang.
It's was my handicaped ex girlfriend who called. She needed help, and today was the day i had planed to stay home relaxing. But no...train for 20 minutes then bus 10 minutes to buy:oops: one thing .
My ego say noooooo. But my consiouesness say, do it. So here i am, on the train to but one thing, then go home again

Consciousness is a strange thing

Do you mean consciousness, or conscience?
And was it your ego, or your "consciousness" that made you post this?

Hehe, i had that thought my self.
Hey this is my ego that speak.
I might remove the OP
I do not think it was your ego. It is just one thing that happened. And you consider the members here as your virtual friends. You had to just get it out of your heart. Which is a good thing. You shared the incident with your friends. I do not think you need to remove the topic - whatever happened with your Muslim girl-friend. That is another story.

The muslim woman who for a time was my true girlfriend, was actually happy with me, she found someone she could speak with freely who was not born a muslim. But her family found that when i said honestly that i follow Sufi teaching, and not mainstream sunni teaching, they did not see a future for me and the woman.
As the person i am, i spoke with the woman and we found that if i was going to be able to still be her friend, it was best (for now) to listen to her family. So it is a bit complicated.

I guess sufism scare many muslims of some reason i can not explain.

In most other Muslim-majority countries, attacks on Sufis and especially their shrines have come from adherents of puritanical and revivalist Islamic movements (Salafis and Wahhabis), who believe that practices such as visitation to and veneration of the tombs of Sufi saints, celebration of the birthdays of Sufi saints, and dhikr ("remembrance" of God) ceremonies are bid‘ah (impure "innovation") and shirk ("polytheistic"). - Wikipedia

Saudi Arabia destroyed what was supposed to have been Mohammad's residence in Mecca.

Yes Sufis have a "bad name" in many muslim societies...
