You can honour the heroism and courage of people in battle whilst recognising the unjust causes they gave their lives for. Evil is not incapable of virtue, nor is Good incapable of vice. So Confederate soldiers should be commemorated too. There were all somebodies children once.

How about the right's cancelling of the ability to vote and their desire to cancel health care for those who need it and to cancel taxes for the super-rich.

As the direct descendant of a Confederate veteran I would rather not see a Confederate memorial. It's like Germany having a WWII memorial. It's something we need to acknowledge and move past.

Confederate statues must be toppled.
They must not be honored or even recognized in public anymore.
So I'm told.
