It seems that Messianic Judaism are divided on the Name of our Savior. Some say that we have to stick on the name Yeshua only and not accept any other name like Jesus. Other Messianics say, it is just still okay to call Him Jesus because it just a transliteration or translation of the name.

I know of no division, MJ almost universally use Yeshua and not Jesus.

If someone calls out to me in a crowd using some other name than my own, I probably will not respond.

There was no person 2000 years ago named Jesus. Make a time machine and go back looking for Jesus and you will fail.

Then again there are those who say his name was actually Yehoshua.

The root is the same, however, and there is a meaning to the name in Hebrew.

...this is the Messianic Judaism DIR. That means that posting is restricted to Messianic Jews and respectful questions from all others.

Yeshua was raised in 3 days and 3 nights.[72hrs]

Therefore they can not be same person.

All depends on how one counts such things. I don't put much emphasis on the timings of this. As a Jew, I don't change the day of rest to Sunday, it remains Saturday, as the Torah commands.

Yeah, like having 4 new years in a year.

You do not use the Brit Chadashah for whatever reason Zardoz , I understand that and have no problem with it.

We that come from xtianity , for us timing means all the difference though, let me explain:

The real/true Messiah made it clear to us former xtians that there is a key to know for sure which Messiah one is referring to :

Mat 12:40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Furthermore, xtians are confused with the "Light" of the Father and the light of the sun....

Check out Genesis/Bere**** 1. ; to see which Light the Father created in the first [3 days and 3 nights].

Now check out all their[xtian] pictures of mary and the baby jesus as well as the obelisks of sun-god Ra, infront of the Popes window and the white-house of America.

Here is another example of the importance of timing :

Dan 9:26 Then, after the sixty-two weeks, Mashiach will be cut off........

There is no sound in "Jesus" that appears in "Yahshua." Seems like an awful transliteration.

Besides, Yahshua's name denotes a concept--"Yah" is a shortened form of YHWH, and "shua" means "saves." The name "Jesus" has no meaning to it at all.

There is but one way one can count "such" things...>

Gen 1:5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” There was evening and there was morning, one day.
Gen 1:8 God called the expanse “sky.” There was evening and there was morning, a second day.
Gen 1:13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Gen 1:19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
Gen 1:23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
Gen 1:31 God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

Christians on the other hand, work by the Sun and start their day @24:00 or 12 o clock at night.

They believe their messiah was crucified on a Friday afternoon and was resurrected on the following Sunday.

Which places him in the grave for only two days.
