Hello all. I stopped coming here because my former pastor (rip) instructed us not to mix yolks with earthy, secular people. But now our new pastor is telling us to go out into the word and fight for God and country.

I believe that a lot regarding diseases like corvid19, food allergies, etc. is just fake science like climate change and evolution. It just a placebo effect because we're taught to be weak, give up, etc. I think "allergies" can be cured by being exposed to what triggers them, much how phobias are cured by being exposed to the fears until it's overcame. Sort of like how vaccines (more B.S. "science") are just injections of disease itself. You expose the immune systems and in turn they become stronger and the body cures itself. It's all about just getting over it, but we've raised generation of wussies with the rise of socialism and now with the fall of democracy. Our nation's "immune system" I.e. patriots isn't fighting back against the "disease". God is The real medicine. That's my take and food forethought.

So 2 different pastors got you to do 2 opposite things? Which one was the right one? I'm assuming the first one was wrong, because you're disobeying his instructions in favor of the second pastor. What else has this pastor told you to do?

I shouldn't worry, after all there's nothing in your comments that some education wouldn't fix - if you can just get the motivation.

I think that you probably listen to far too few individuals to get your sense of truth.

Is this your way of saying that you'll swallow up whatever a perceived figure of authority that goes by the label "pastor" tells you?.

I believe that a lot regarding diseases like corvid19, food allergies, etc. is just fake science like climate change and evolution.

Maybe go to your local hospital, visit the Covid wing and repeat that to the nurses.
Or tell it to the family members of the +500.000 covid deaths in the US.

It just a placebo effect because we're taught to be weak, give up, etc. I think "allergies" can be cured by being exposed to what triggers them, much how phobias are cured by being exposed to the fears until it's overcame.

Please don't say such things in public and most definitely not to people with serious allergies as exposing them to the stuff they are allergic too will trigger an anaphylactic shock which could very well kill them. Try to be a responsible adult, okay?

Sort of like how vaccines (more B.S. "science") are just injections of disease itself. You expose the immune systems and in turn they become stronger and the body cures itself

So you agree vaccines will train the immune system to combat the disease, yet you call it "bs science"?

Owkay.

Sarcasm? Or genuine stupidity?

It's all about just getting over it, but we've raised generation of wussies with the rise of socialism and now with the fall of democracy.

yeah... here, watch this "wussy" go into anaphylactic shock

What a wussy socialist, going all red from rash and swelling due to an imaginary allergy.
If only he were a Trump loyalist, right? He wouldn't be swelling up like that with potential fatal outcome, because Trump loyalists aren't wussies like that.

For crying out loud man........................................................

Welcome back. I agree with your current pastor. We don't hide our candles under a bushel but we set it as a city on a hill. But I don't think we are supposed to take the candle and burn everyone with it either. We are to share "the light" and not "blind the oncoming driver in the car with double high beam lights to create an accident". (I remember how I almost lost my sister because it was zeal without wisdom)

Remember our "faith works by love" and not by "stick it in your eye". (I kinda of feel your approach is the "stick it in your eye" approach

There are things I agree with and then applications that I don't agree with.

I would NOT agree that science is fake. Do they make errors? yes. Do they have to correct errors? They do constantly (no masks, masks, double masks and now the new Fauci approved mask.)

IMG_1791.jpeg

but I digress :D

There is climate change--but it is the interpretation of Climate change that I don't agree with.

Fossil DNA Proves Greenland Once Had Lush Forests; Ice Sheet Is Surprisingly Stable

Greenland was green. We know that it wasn't caused by modern human footprint. Climate does change. So, the question is "Is today's manmade or is it just the cycle recycling?". I believe it is "recycling".

HOWEVER, Can man cause a minuscule change? Yes! We have ruined lakes. But I wouldn't agree with man is the cause of ALL the climate change and, for that matter, For that if man were to be completely removed, I believe we still would have climate change.

Have we raised a bunch of wussies? Absolutely!! "I need a safe place" -- "I'm soooo offended" -- "You supported Trump? AAAAAAARG - THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END" -- "You are a conservative and you want to speak out our University? DON'T LET HIM OPEN HIS MOUTH OR MY MIND WILL SELF DESTRUCT" And things like that. :D

Vaccines... they work. (Though I am a little wary of the Covid vaccine since it is a departure from the norm) I could say that I'm happy that I have already had Covid and my body has produced its natural vaccination. But I also think we have become too "clean conscience" and have forgotten that playing in the dirt has some benefit to it.

I personally have opted for no flu vaccinations but I believe they should go back to using the old polio vaccinations.

@Mock Turtle - thanks for the invite :) Thoughts?

Sorry, but no virologists or other medical expert has EVER stated that masks don't work against the spread of respiratory virusses.

Maybe you are confusing whatever quack or politician you have seen on Fox or alike with actual medical experts.

Greenland was green. We know that it wasn't caused by modern human footprint. Climate does change. So, the question is "Is today's manmade or is it just the cycle recycling?"

The answer is that it's man-made.

The effects of burning fossil fuels were known as far back as the 50s.
The oil industry itself has known about that since that time as well, as internal memo's from that time from companies like Exxon prove. In Exxon, it even was a point of discussion during a meeting of the board members. They have been funding misinformation campaigns ever since.

I believe it is "recycling".

Like many other things you believe, that belief is incorrect.

HOWEVER, Can man cause a minuscule change? Yes! We have ruined lakes.

That's more local environmental pollution. Climate is a global phenomenon.
Climate is heavily linked to atmospheric composition and alike. So obviously if we put out enormous amounts of CO2 and Methane in the atmosphere and thereby upset the balance of it, it will affect climate.

And both CO2 and Methane are demonstrably green house gasses.

What do you think is going to happen after 100+ years of massive output of such gasses?

Here, have a graph:

Not at this pace with this level of disrupment.
Unless it's the result of a supervolcano or some meteorite off course.

That's because he and some other virologists felt that transmission was most likely through the hands at first, but obviously changed his mind when it became much clearer that it's mostly airborne contact that's the most dangerous.

BTW, when I go shopping I still wear gloves because it still can be passed on through the hands. I wear cotton gloves as it holds the virus for only a few minutes.

This didn't explain when Greenland was.... green
It was a ruse used by the Danes to try and get people to move there. The last time it was tropical was long before any European contact.

Sorry, but I just had to chime in.

OK, now back into my cave. :glomp2:

Well I hope he can see that not all pastors perhaps think alike or are likely to commend him for his irrational views. Can't comment on your Greenland thing - not having enough detailed knowledge about geology and history of such, but have plate tectonics not played a role in what climate any land mass experiences? I haven't enough knowledge to disagree with the vast number of scientists with regard to global warming.

Did you also read the article?
I don't think you did, since you don't seem to understand why he adviced against it.

I'll tell you: not because he thought they didn't work. But rather because as the world was caught by surprise, there was an extreme shortage of facemasks and it was important that health care workers didn't run out!

From the article:
  • "I don't regret anything I said then because in the context of the time in which I said it, it was correct. We were told in our task force meetings that we have a serious problem with the lack of PPEs," he said.

So knowing there's a shortage and that in combination with not having a lot of knowledge about the new desease and how it spreads - it would have been irresponsible to say anything else but to advice against it.

So, point remains: not a single virologist or other medical professional has ever stated that masks don't work against the spread of respiratory viruses.

Yes... this is correct history.

I don't agree

Funny, since you just agreed to it in the previous sentence by confirming what I said was correct history.

This didn't explain when Greenland was.... green which contradicts your position.

You make no sense.
Nothing I said contradicts a past where greenland was green.

What I said concerned only what has been happening the past 100 years.

I note you seem to simply ignore the graph.

Ostrich defense, much?

That's because he and some other virologists felt that transmission was most likely through the hands at first, but obviously changed his mind when it became much clearer that it's mostly airborne contact that's the most dangerous.

As the article @KenS itself stated, the primary reason for advising against it in the beginning, was a shortage of such masks and if all citizens were suddenly encouraged to go buy some, stock would have been depleted within 24 hours, which would have been a disaster for health workers.

Health workers had priority. They didn't want to risk running out of stock.

The "belgian version" of Fauci was saying this on day 1 in the news.
Reporters asked him if we should be wearing masks (as they were advising social distance, desinfecting hands and wearing gloves). He flat out said "no - there's a shortage and we can't afford running out in hospitals"

Yes... I know :) - that is why I said "They have to correct themselves" - wasn't criticizing (though the last was a great joke) - I was just reporting.

I recommend not taking orders from pastors.
Post here whenever you feel like it.

That was part of it, but Fauci and some others publicly stated that they thought transmission was mostly by hand. I'm certainly not a medical researcher, but I did question this right off the bat because at the CPAC meeting last year at about this time, about three dozen people came down with it, thus I didn't think there'd be that many without there being air transmission.

The "belgian version" of Fauci was saying this on day 1 in the news.
Reporters asked him if we should be wearing masks (as they were advising social distance, desinfecting hands and wearing gloves). He flat out said "no - there's a shortage and we can't afford running out in hospitals"
And then Trump pushed this all off onto the States, which then had to compete against each other to get the PPE's. He also refused to implement the Defense Production Act to speed up making them. And then he repeatedly lied to the American public saying how it would be defeated whereas he actually told Bob Woodward how deadly it was and how it could spread broadly.

Yes, and ditto back at ya. We got our first vaccine shot and will get #2 on Monday [I said get #2, not go #2-- just to be clear] How about you'se?

I use to say that too... but, as the scientific post corrected the thought, recent discoveries indeed show that it was much greener.
Ya, about 2.5 million years ago :D:
Since most of Greenland is covered in ice, snow and glaciers, the Arctic nation is mostly white. So how did it get its name “Greenland” when it’s not really green? It actually got its name from Erik The Red, an Icelandic murderer who was exiled to the island. He called it “Greenland” in hopes that the name would attract settlers. But according to scientists, Greenland was actually quite green more than 2.5 million years ago. -- 10 Facts about Greenland that You Might Not Know - [Visit Greenland!]

BTW, I'm 1/4 Swede, so do you know how to tell a Swede from a Dane from a Norwegian?

Answer: A Norwegian eats to live; a Dane lives to eat; and a Swede eats to drink.:emojconfused:
