What is your spirit animal?

I hope your human spirit animal visits you in your dreams and visions. I also hope he's some unkempt guy with an open tie dye shirt and flip flops with socks on named "Cody." I hope Cody visits you to "Like, give you some spiritual advice, man," as he reaches out his cheeto dusted hand to fist bump. :D

I'd watch that movie!

That's impressively detailed. :)

Possibly a horse, a goose, a variety of burrowing rabbit, a gibbon or a tree snake.
Might consider a squid as well.

Sigurd, I sleep soundly. Do not dream much now and remember even less. I rise early even if I sleep late. And a thousand thoughts pass by in the morning before I get out of my bed for the morning tea. Other than humans, I am partial to cows (not for any religious reason but because Indian cows are so lovely, so dainty, unlike the European cows), and house-sparrows which have disappeared from the area where I live in Delhi.

You're gonna be sipping your morning tea and reading the news and out of the corner of your eye your gonna see a transparent, glowing vissage of cody peeking around the corner of your kitchen doorway, and he's gonna say, "Hey, bruh! So, I like, I'm here to teach you about the one-ness of the universe and how we are all interconnected or something. Are you busy right now, bruh? What are you doing there? Is that tea? I got some, like, eukalyptus infused wheat berry chai tea you can try, but I need some bus money if you got a couple bucks to spare. No pressure!"

I do not use any kind of 'masala' (spices) in my tea, not even cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, holy basil / Tulsi (some people go for that), etc.; and we make it the Indian way, sugar milk and then boil till the correct color appears. That is known as the '80 mile tea'; which means that after drinking that kind of tea one can drive a car for two hours before another shot of tea is needed.

Quite a few years ago, I tried out a meditative exercise that was intended to let you connect with your spirit animal. I don't fully remember the details of how it was done, though there was nothing dramatic about it. Pretty much just clearing the mind of everything but the desire to meet your spirit animal. After some time, an animal did indeed appear in my mind.

I saw a chinchilla.

I know! I was honestly expecting to see a crow or a raven. Given that most people say their spirit animal is something associated with mystery or grace, I thought my mind would conjure something like that.

It was so out of character for how my mind works that it left me wondering if maybe there really was some outside force that I connected with. I guess that's impossible to prove or disprove though so I'll just say it was an interesting experience and leave others to come to their own conclusions.

As a kid, we had some small animal breeders that lived down the street. They had a double garage full of rabbits, a few very large tanks full of mice, and a small wall full of chinchillas in their basement. When they would leave on vacations, I would take care of their animals for them.

First I'd feed the rabbits. Took awhile; there were so many. They'd hop and flop and make a fuss for their food. Then the mice. They'd climb all over, and run all over each other... And then came the chinchillas. They sat and watched patiently, while I filled their bowl. I would give each one a raisin. They would reach out and take it in their mouths, ever so gently... It was almost like they were concerned they would hurt me if they took it too quick! And they'd sit for a scratch behind the ears... no fuss. They were truly a beacon of calm and gentleness in a houseful of nuts.

What is your spirit animal?
A skunk-- which my wife says is quite appropriate. :emojconfused:

I am a Me'tis [3 of my 4 grandparents], but since I was not brought up in the "tradition of the elders" I didn't know what my totem was until a woman who is Cherokee helped me. What was the key in my case was a reoccurring dream [literally thousands of times] of running into a skunk in the tall grass field next to the house I grew up in, whereas we had a conversation.

Birds are messengers from the spirit world. And oftentimes represent the Soul, like with Doves.

Interesting stories. I ought to mention that I also have wrens, which make a fantastic song in springtime and which sometimes make a nest in the trellis just outside the kitchen door. Both the wrens and the robins seem fairly unafraid of me. The robins follow me about when I am gardening, hoping for disturbed insects to eat. And then I also sometimes get blue tits nesting in a crack in the bricks, behind the soil pipe in a corner of the house. There were half a dozen young last year: I counted them fly out one by one, one afternoon. I'm afraid a jay got one, though.
