commentary on Micah 2:3-7

Here is a commentary on:

Micah 2:3-7 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time. 4 In that day shall they take up a parable against you, and lament with doleful lamentation, and say, We are utterly ruined: he changeth the portion of my people: how doth he remove it from me! To the rebellious he divideth our fields. 5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast the line by lot in the assembly of Jehovah. 6 Prophesy ye not, thus they prophesy. They shall not prophesy to these: reproaches shall not depart. 7 Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah straitened? Are these his doing? (American Standard Version; ASV)

Here we see that in the time of the prophet Micah conditions were very bad; much like our present time where crime is rampant especially in our major cities where you see 1 inch bullet proof glass at fast food stores because everyone is so fearful; where over 50 percent of the marriages end in divorce; many children have been abandoned by their parents who are now in the care of state child welfare agencies; sexual immorality is rampant; many do not bother to get married, but just live together; many families are very unhappy, and the mainstream churches (religions) are providing no guidance. As in Micah's time, many now claim to serve God (YHWH). Like Judah and Israel of ole, however, they are divided and have even fought wars among themselves. Many of the wealthy in the so called Christian world have oppressed the poor. More and more, religious leaders of mainstream religions condone and/or accept practices that are expressly condemned in the Bible. No wonder so called Christian world or as called in the Bible, 'Babylon the Great,' will soon meet its end; it is truly the world empire of false religion foretold at Revelation 18:1-5, "After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority: and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations are fallen; and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth waxed rich by the power of her wantonness. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues: 5 for her sins have reached even unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." (ASV).

Today we even see so called mainstream Christian Trinitarian religions even ordaining homosexuals as Bishops; this was the recent case with respect the Episcopalians who just ordained a known homosexual. This does NOT square with the Bible as testified to at Romans 1:26-27, "For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was done." (ASV); whereas, the Bible clearly condemns these acts now openly being approved by a so called mainstream Christian Trinitarian religion, sure shows their lack of obedience to God's (YHWH's) word! The Bible which these groups claim to believe in clearly states at 1 Timothy 3:1-2, "Faithful is the saying, If a man seeketh the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 The bishop therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober minded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach." (ASV); And at Titus 1:7-9, "For the bishop must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no ttriker, not greedy of filthy lucre; 8 but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled; 9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convice the gainsayers." (ASV); obviously one should not be chosen as a bishop who violates 1 Corinthians 6:9, "or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men," (ASV). No more need be said as God's (YHWH's) word has already said it all!
