Ode to Spirituality of January 6th

On my shoulder sits my lesser monkey angel
My emotions rally strong in attendance

They have shackled me with my fears
They have shackled me with my hatreds

I am a slave to their institutions
They have taken everything from me

My distraction-commander has just confirmed my worst fears
Everything has been stolen!

Enough! I am entitled to what is mine so I must react
I am forced to march with my mob as we seek our vengeance

Oh voice of reason so far off in the distance
I can barely hear your sweet words so softly spoken

If I can only remember what can't be taken!
Freedom comes from within

If I can only remember what can't be given!
Freedom comes from within

I know in my heart animals act out of fear
And only the brave can choose to be free

If I can only let my animal nature die
I will be born again a human being

I want to kick this lesser monkey off my back
because I know my emotions will continue to lord over me

Oh sweet voice of reason how I missed you so
For now my distraction-commander no longer owns me

I now accept I am responsible for everything in my own life
And I am free build what it is I want and hold dear

Sorry, but I felt compelled to kill one more snake. I will return back to my self-imposed ban.
