Spiritual Death

halbhh

The wonder and awe of "all things".
what is a spiritual death? losing one's mind to reason? or denying unconditional love?

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

While the verse quoted is about the afterlife outcome for a person, after this life...

One can be 'dead' here and now, living a half alive life.

In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, we learn from the great Teacher how pursuing a version of the seeming fun life that some of the world advocates is often an empty illusion (the illusion is about what is truly good, truly enjoyable, life enhancing).

And that only when we turn back to the source of what is true good can we recover the better life of being fully alive here and now.
Bible Gateway passage: Luke 15:11-32 - New International Version

While some choose to live a very poor quality of life like the Prodigal Son did, there are also many that simply live in a half-alive way, not realizing what is so much better, a kind of birth right they left and forgot, or had hidden from them by the culture of the world in youth sometimes.

It's metaphoric language only. Jesus speaks of the second death which is separation
from God forever.
Furthermore, Jesus also spoke of those who receive him as having a life now they
never had before, "that they might have life, and have it more abundantly."

A Spiritual death..is when a person gives their soul, spirit over to Satan..

There is a condition to God's love.
Many people are taught that God's love is unconditional.
That's a false teaching of man's.

In John 3:16--"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

Here in John 3:16 lays the condition to God's love.
( That Whosoever believes in him Jesus Christ)
This being the condition to God's love.
To believe in The Lord Jesus Christ..
Should not perish, but have everlasting life.

RE: GOD'S LOVE:

1. Allowing his son to be crucified, stabbed, with a thorn hat, and killed?

2. Flooding the world (Noah).

3. Kicking out of Eden (Adam and Eve)

4. Allowing his "chosen ones" to be tortured to death under Hitler?

5. Not answering prayers of cancer victims as they died in agony?

I could go on, but you get the picture. God's love is a myth (obviously).

FOLLOWING SATAN:

1. War (thou shalt not kill)

2. Greed and destruction of God's environment (timber roads, and not protecting against fires, promoting oil companies, denying mankind's influence on Global Warming).

3. Choosing the wrong religion, wrong God, or even the wrong president. (Too hasty to wait for results, war is the first option, ahead of diplomacy). We have to believe that our leader is humble, because Christianity demands it, yet, it is impossible to rule the world and be humble at the same time.

4. Satan rules by lies, fear, greed, etc. (phony orange alerts to scare us into war).

5. Most modern Christians have been deceived, and don't even realize that they are following Satan. They wonder why the world is so messed up with COVID, debt, war, forest fires, homeless. The answer is simple, most Christians have been following Satan for such a long time, and not realizing it, that it is now second nature. They couldn't recognize Christ if they saw him.

Eternal life (rotting in hell) is not the condition to God's love. It is condemnation of mankind for killing Jesus. Did you expect a reward from God for killing his son?

At best it's a metaphor.

Metaphor for what?

For whatever you wish to think. My guess would be that if someone says you've suffered "spiritual death" they mean "you've rejected something I think is very important". You're entitled to reply to that as you think appropriate.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
That's just idle threats. The word "soul" is a metaphor for "your self" ─ or something along those lines ─ and there is no way ─ not even a credible hypothetical way ─ in which your self can survive the death of the physical brain that created and sustained it.

I personally believe that spiritual death is a state of consciousness when a person temporarily or permanently knowingly rejects the Prophets of God, opposes Them or condemns Them or disbelieves in Them because I believe spiritual life is given to men through Them.

I do not believe we can be spiritually alive without turning humbly towards These Sacred Beings and trying to follow Their guidance.

There's no rotting in hell..
where did you get that at..
Being in hell...is the separation from God..
Once God destroys the ( Soul) ( Spirit)
There's no existence after God destroys the ( Soul) ( Spirit)

As Jesus Christ speaking, saying in
Matthew 10:28--"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell"

Therefore once God destroys both body and soul in hell there is no more existing..
Therefore all traces of you ever existing is no more, all gone, the remembrance of you Is as you never, ever existed.

When God destroys both body and soul in hell...this all takes place at the
Great White Throne Judgement of God's.
Revelation 20:11-15,
11--"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire"

Accounts that refer to "spiritually dead/death" is not referring to a physical death. It refers to ones spiritual state of mind, belief, religious views/practices and so forth-viewed by God's perspective. The following scriptural references should help one to get a sense of the meaning of this condition.-Matthew 8:21, 22; Luke 9:60; John 5:14; Ephesians:1,2, 4-6; Colossians 2:13; 1 Timothy 5:6; 1 Peter 4:6; 1 John 3:14.

Ezekiel 37-14 gives a symbolic example of how God will restore the remnant of the exiled people of Israel and Judah from Babylonian captivity.
