Oh my, this is why I stick to Off-Topic and General Debates mostly.... I to am confused... Why would you post them (along with the others, which I will choose not to read)? I think Linwood needs to be frubaled...

And unlike television, we can give IMMEDIATE feedback when we are givan crud to read. :D But then, it's YOUR decision whether you will read it, or if you'll do anything with the information garnered.

I think that Valentine's Day began back in Roman times as a celebration of erotic love, but that we have transmuted it into a celebration of romantic love. Erotic love was the closest the ancients came to having a concept of romantic love.

Speak for yourself.

I`m still celebrating it the way it was meant to be.

I don't celebrate Valentines day only for the fact I have no one to celebrate it with. If I did, I would, and would make that girl feel special, more special than she already is.

Any girl that would celebrate it with me IS special..

I understand that you are trying to put forward a point that Valentine's Day wasn't really a holiday created under your religion, but you don't have to critisize people who celebrate it now. We're just showing our love on a day devoted to it. Today's practices aren't unholy, but by all means if you find someone who is practicing something other than that out of pure love, feel free to condemn them for me.

And if that's just your attitude towards love, prepare for a long and lonely life. I don't know many boy/girlfriends who would be pleased about not recieving a card because of your religious beliefs....

PS- I'm all for bashing of another holiday...let's see them find something wrong with Thanksgiving.

Bwahaha! I can see this as the pagan God of Gluteous Maximus makes a reprise!

ohh.. I can point out a few things about Thanksgiving. ;)
As for Valentines day or any other holiday... if you don't want to celebrate it, don't.
But don't be a stick in the mud about it either.
