Interesting interpretation, its doesn't explain this phrase though;

"Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

How do you interpret this phrase in a way that suggests God wants people to be rich?

23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Notice here that Jesus says " TRUST" in riches. He did not dismiss riches here, he just don't want you to trust in them, which i don't ( but the rich young ruler did). if you trust in riches you don't enter the kingdom, but if you trust in Jesus you do. I trust in jesus.:)

That's what I'm wondering. Do the owners have a moral obligation to take some of those profits and support a worker who's only fault is that he doesn't work fast enough? Or, are the owners excused from such a moral obligation because it would conflict with good business practices, which are to make the biggest possible profit?
My point is that your arguing that morallity is based upon the profit margin of the company.
At least in this case.

IS it immoral for this company, and every company, to not hire those who are unemployed and stilled skilled within the job?
If they have enough profit to do so, you seem to be saying tht it is immoral.

 This reads completely wrong: you think JC gave a damn about wealth truly? :areyoucra

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." - Matthew 6:24 KJV

"Mammon is a word used in the Bible to describe riches, avarice, and worldly gain. It is personified as a false god in the New Testament. Often, mammon is regarded as material wealth and thought to have an evil influence." -Wikipedia

The word in greek is mammonas {mam-mo-nas'} and has several uses, which the wikipedia definition is plausable.

From Strong's Concordance:
1) mammon
2) treasure
3) riches (where it is personified and opposed to God)

In Luke 16:14, after Jesus says that you are unable to serve both God and mammon:
"And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him. And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God."

I think JC made his feelings about money very clear. And no, I never said that Jesus cared about money. I made my point clear that what mattered were the attachments. Wealth itself was not his main concern. A person can be rich but unattached to material things, such an example is the allegory of Job. God had remained first no matter how much Job gained or lost.

But treasure up for you treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust cause to vanish, and where theives do not dig through and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:19 Interlinear Bible

Quotes by Paul or other apostles:

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs"

Hebrews 13:5:
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you"
