Our beloved betta fish, Maximus, has died today. He was over 4 years old - ancient in betta years. He was getting to the point where he clearly could not see, and was quite a slow swimmer; he would often be oblivious to food pellets placed right in front of him.

We gave him a little burial in a planter in the front yard. May he rest in peace and enjoy whatever fishy afterlife is in store for him.
