I wonder how many flights have been grounded and passengers deboarded due to antimaskers. I imagine most keep it on while grounded then make their stinks in the air.
Hope they get lifetime bans.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I can see if they are disruptive. If not, they should not be barred on the basis of political affiliation which would be clear discrimination imv.

I do not think that the MAGA crowd will be nowhere near the problem going home as when they went to DC. On the way to DC they were on a mission. Going home they are not only going home in defeat, but some of them are going to be very afraid of getting a knock on their door some day from the FBI.

I hope it was worth it.
Seriously though. I can’t help but wonder what is in store for the MAGA crowd. Are they going to be disillusioned with the electoral system? Are they going to gain any set reflection from this? Was this too far for some? Will they look for a new party? Not sure how they can, but still.

Our news here has treated this incident with a mixture of horror, disappointment and curiosity. With the Trumpers being subject to armchair diagnosis.
Although since Biden was officially certified the news has seemingly turned its attention to all the calls for Trump to be immediately removed from office. Eh

Good luck with that.
Measures are already being taken:

American Airlines bans alcohol on flights to and from Washington after Capitol riot.

American Airlines said on Thursday that it had banned alcohol on flights to and from Washington at least through Thursday night and was taking other precautions to keep its employees and passengers safe after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Wednesday.

The company said it had increased staffing at the area’s three main airports. United Airlines said it has also stepped up airport staffing and had moved crews out of hotels in downtown Washington earlier in the week. American, United and Delta Air Lines said they were in close contact with local and federal authorities.

Even before the attack on the Capitol, airline crews and passengers had reported encountering unruly passengers headed to Washington early on Wednesday. Flight attendant unions expressed concern after members reported having to confront passengers who were being disruptive, behaving aggressively or flouting mask requirements. Video and photos posted on social media showed pro-Trump passengers cheering, singing and yelling at other passengers.
It continues. Now as far as treating people as individuals goes, that's all good and fine, but when you have groups of people like this, all gathering together and rallying around a political issue, that steps it up a bit from just some lone traveler being a jerk. If groups of people are being jerks, as has been the case cited above, now you have to step things up a bit more.

That is entirely reasonable, and correct to do under those circumstances. Mob mentality, resulted in yesterday's attack on the Nation's Capitol. Trump was just the who lit the fuse for them for his pleasure.

Banning alcohol is a great tool to improve things
without punishing any individual for being part
of a group.

Yes, it helps. But they are also stepping up measures to keep them under control. Hopefully that is enough. But we can certainly appreciate the concerns of those employees feeling threatened by such "thug" mentalities on their planes.

I can see banning a traveling group of unruly salesmen known for grabbing people's bottoms on flights as a due course of action, for instance, even if a few of them are "very fine people". Sometimes, when you're part of group, you pay the price for the others lower forms of conduct. That's just how it goes sometimes.

You address anyone with rowdy behavior. You can't discriminate against peaceful Trump supporters. Imagine if they banned all Black Live Supporters after a demonstration got rowdy?

I would love to have the MAGA crowd continue to make their own version of the Republican party. They are not strong enough to be a threat on their own and that will only hamstring the Republicans for a while. It has been some time since the Republican party has been the "Party of Lincoln". They dropped those ideals in the 1970's.

Forgive me, not American. What ideals did Lincoln have?
