Are We At Home Or On Probation?

Are we at home on this World, having been born from it; or are we on probation for the sins of our ancestors?

Both. Humans are inescapably Gaean, and also inescapably shaped by the legacy of the ancestors (though I'd frame this in more neutral terms, personally).

We do not live forever, so we cannot be at home.
We are no better than our ancestors except maybe in our imaginations.
If we are at home here then our descendants will not be because we are destroying their home.
How could God allow us to live forever when we keep doing evil things?

Where would you go? And why are you so eager to leave?

I want to hang around for a while yet but I don't see humanity changing and so even if things may look as if they are improving at times I am wanting Jesus to come and permanently change things and our ways. That is not to say that we shouldn't be trying to eliminate injustices etc now.

I think it will require us to unite as a global family, and I have hope that is possible.

Hence the United Nations. Hence some people with grand visions attempting to conquer the world and put it under one rulership.
I think that we will unite more out of necessity as we need to fix global problems on a global scale.
It would be great if we could unite truly as a global family and treat each other as family and the world as our mother or something like that. I can't understand Christians who seem to be against such a thing. It is probably an interpretation of prophecy which makes them antagonistic to it. And really a united world would only be good for all if we had the right leadership and a desire by all to see it work for the good of all. These things could be problems.
