Christianity vs Baha'i

Jerusalem means Abode of Peace, or City of Peace, thus God will pour out on hearts that that are inhabited by peace the spirit, grace and knowledge of Christ.

To my understanding, there is only one Christ, just as there is only one Truth.

If hearts already have peace then they don't need the Spirit of grace and knowledge of Christ!

Interesting comment you make about Christians being left disappointed by the absence of a 'material' coming. I think a number of things will have to occur on earth before his coming [whether material or spiritual], and these will be a strong indicator of the coming judgment.

If you lived in the 1800's, you would be saying the same thing.

Why do you think Christianity started to splinter in a catastrophic way from the mid 1800's?

The expectation of the return was the talk of the age, all the signs had come to pass the Millerites had predicted the year, but did not know the day and hour.

To limit our understanding of timeless revelation is problematic.

Yes Christ is One, the Holy Spirit. Christ transcends Names, as all Names revert back to our One God, it is the One God that gives all the Names of God.

That is how Jesus can say as Christ I am the First and I am the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and Omega. That the Father and I are One.

Christ is all we can know of God and Christ is the Holy Spirit which is Annointed on all the Messengers.

This is how we become One Fold under One Shepherd, who is the I Am, God. Many flocks with many shepherds of different names but all those names are the shepherd. John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

The Key to this is acknowledgement in our heart that there is One God, when we know this, we can read what Jesus offered to know that Jesus wanted us to know He is Christ, the 'Self of God' amongst us and that the flesh of Jesus was not important.

One thing I've learnt about the Bible as a revelation from God, is that it's a sealed book. The truth lies within, not outside, in a name that doesn't appear in the words of scripture. All attempts to break into this sealed truth are doomed to failure. Only one man is able to open this seal [Revelation 5:9]

Thankfully, the Jews realised this when they studied the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings. They did not know about the NT, but they knew that you could not add to, or subtract from, the words of the Torah. From the Tanakh, they were able to work out the days of the prophetic week of God's first heaven and earth, and see that the Messianic era was prophesied for the fifth and sixth millennia after Adam.

The thing about the OP title is that for a Baha'i there is no Christianity verses Baha'i, there is not Baha'i verses the Jew or the Muslim or any Faith.

For a Baha'i it is about embracing the Truth found in all God given Faith. Its not a competition is is a way of life a longing of the heart to be a true Jew, or Muslim, or Christian or Baha'i.

This can only be embraced when we consider that God does as God Wills and it is God that gives the Covenants, to which we can become signatories to.

Yes it was indeed a sealed book. It also in a few places said those seals were to be opened. Daniel gave Prophecy of the closed seals and when they would be opened. Revelation tells us when the seals would be opened.

Jesus as Christ said He had much more to say, that the Spirit of Truth would come and guide us to all Tuth. Obviously the seals have to be broken for that to be so.

Now I ask, what greater truth can be found that we are all one people under One God.

That our goal is to know and Love God as one people with one soul, no divisions.

Obviously the seals were not broken when Jesus gave the Message.

Tony, this makes no sense to me. It appears to me to be a contradiction.

In Ezekiel 37 God rages against the shepherds who fail to look after the flock. These are God's words; 'As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;'

Ezekiel 37: 23,24:
'And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.'

This prophecy was written about 550 years before Jesus! There is only one 'good shepherd' [John10:11]!

We all want there to be love and understanding between people of this earth, but the only true way to achieve this goal is IN CHRIST. Christ is the Noah's ark of salvation, and there's no other boat afloat!

Baha'u'llah gave us understanding into verses such as these.

Jesus left the Disciples as the shepherds after his ascension and the flocks are looked after through that Covernant. After them the hutch was to be build, the Authority was the Word and the Church structure world become the Shepherds as long as they did not add to the Word.

When the Churches added to that Word, made doctrine, the flocks lost the Shepherd.

The verse is self explanatory, the history of the church unfolded before our eyes.

It is also saying that the Church did not look at the Truth outside of the walls they had built.

What you're suggesting is that we artificially create a one-world peace. Papering over the cracks does not make for a happy ending! All one would be doing is giving lukewarm hand shakes with a cold heart. The message of Jesus Christ is to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and have your heart changed! Then one can truly love one's neighbour.

Every Revelation from God has One Shepherd and that Shepherd brings the everlastingly Covernant and gives the Covernant needed for the age.

It is obvious it was not the One and Same David that did this, but from the line of David.

What we have to consider also is that God Di not leave the rest of the world alone. Krishna also gave promises that have to be fulfilled, as did Zoroaster and Buddha.

God is all encompassing of all humanity.

The true Church is the body of Christ, the temple of God, formed of those born again of the Spirit of Christ. Entering the kingdom of God can only happen if you receive the gift of Holy Spirit promised by Jesus Christ before his crucifixion. Since Pentecost that Spirit has been available to all who would repent and believe.

You're trying to artificially create a one-world peace. Papering over the cracks does not make for a happy ending! All you're doing is giving warm hand shakes with a cold heart. The message of Jesus Christ is to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and have your heart changed! Then you can truly love your neighbour.

Why impute anything to me, what I offer is not my Message. ;)

Maybe you need to visit a Baha'i, a Hindu, a Muslim, or Zoroastrian community, to name a few, to see how one can love their neighbours, with warm and loving hearts before thinking that a person who calls themselves Christain has the only path to redemption and a right way of life.

How cold has your heart become to all of them?

Yes it is available. As to what the promise was all about, that is what was being discussed.

I note that you have gone into Christian defence mode. That is when you close the door to all that is not set doctrine and say damn them to hell, I am safe in my room.

That is why the Jews still cannot see who Jesus was and now is.

It was the one and only shepherd that brought in the everlasting covenant! At the time of Ezekiel's prophecy, David was long dead. Ezekiel was prophesying the coming of the Messiah, 'my servant David'. Jesus Christ is the last king in the line of David, as it says in Matthew's Gospel; 'The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham,'

Did you notice that the 'generation' of Jesus Christ is SINGULAR. Compare this with Adam, Genesis 5:1.

When we look for single meaning, we will find many ways to support what is offered.

At the same time when we look for an all embracing truth, we can balance those passages with others that say the opposite.
