Reddit's rating system is pretty useless, and you can't sort for the good stuff. The truth is they're hoarding posts. You can't find anything unless you know what terms to search for. Downvotes and upvotes mean almost nothing.

The popularity of films for adults being based around characters from children's comics is a perfect example of just how juvenile supposedly modern civilisation really is.
I feel this is because, despite getting older, none of us ever really grow up.
Those of us who are lucky enuf to not outgrow comic book characters.
Darkman, Spiderman, Wolverine, Deadpool,
Mr Furious, The Shadow, Ned The Piemaker, etc.
