Breaking news and one thing that absolutely should be done:

First on CNN: GSA tells Biden that transition can formally begin - CNNPolitics

The General Services Administration has informed President-elect Joe Biden that the Trump administration is ready to begin the formal transition process...
...
"GSA does not dictate the outcome of legal disputes and recounts, nor does it determine whether such proceedings are reasonable or justified," she wrote. "These are issues that the Constitution, federal laws, and state laws leave to the election certification process and decisions by courts of competent jurisdiction. I do not think that an agency charged with improving federal procurement and property management should place itself above the constitutionally-based election process. I strongly urge Congress to consider amendments to the Act."

Well he says he's still not conceding and still sueing but I guess most his court cases are failing.

He'll go to the Supreme Court. If I were them, I'd treat the case as I would a live, ticking nuke right in front of me and have nothing to do with it.

After that fails, he'll no doubt continue to complain about how he was robbed.

Cases are failing and states are certifying. It's over for him.

That's likely to happen. The Lib judges won't accept it, Gorsuch may be more scathing than the federal judge, Thompson probably won't support it, Roberts I doubt it and I don't think Kavanaugh seems like he might reject it as well with the others firmly against it. The other two I'm not sure about.
Trump's basically running up a steep, metal hill that is very well lubed up, and it's gated off to him at the top anyways.

He didn't. The woman in G. S. A. said a transition could start.

Trump has not openly conceded and still requested a wasteful machine recount in Georgia beginning tomorrow. His campaign is still demanding the confirmation of signatures at Georgia's expense. How childish, arrogant and foolish.

The GSA was waiting for Michigan to confirm Biden's win, and not Trump.

And quite possibly because she is beginning to realize that denying a start just might result in legal action against her. Sometimes, a little scare can do wonders to induce people to do the right thing...

Fixed.

It's been gnawing at me.
I feel better now.
If you find it annoying, you may throw toast at me.

Well, I honestly don't feel that there is anything inconsistent about my humanist belief, nor that knowing there are laws that can make me vulnerable to unpleasant consequences if I default.

Humanism is a rational philosophy informed by science, inspired by art, and motivated by compassion. Affirming the dignity of each human being, it supports the maximization of individual liberty and opportunity consonant with social and planetary responsibility. It advocates the extension of participatory democracy and the expansion of the open society, standing for human rights and social justice. Free of supernaturalism, it recognizes human beings as a part of nature and holds that values-be they religious, ethical, social, or political-have their source in human experience and culture. Humanism thus derives the goals of life from human need and interest rather than from theological or ideological abstractions, and asserts that humanity must take responsibility for its own destiny.

That's all fine.
But we pedants love our subjunctive case.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Trump says he is still not conceding though.
People are ignorant. Thats why.

Transition should take effect once the Electoral College votes have been cast and the results officially tabulated in December.

Maybe its fixed after all since transitioning seems to have been givin the green light before the Electorate has even voted.

Shady stuff but thats the kind of people we have now.

This has not been the case in recent US history.

Well, that is authoritarian BS, because I can be religious and a humanist. Your tribe doesn't own words. So you are inconsistent in that humanism can be done based on the supernatural.

Funds to start the transition have traditionally been given well before the Electoral College votes. For example, even in the Bush-Gore debacle, Gore got transition funds to prepare. Of course, he eventually lost, but those funds were made available *in case* he won.

This is usually done even before the votes are certified, once a winner (or potential winner) has been determined. That transition funds have NOT been made available this time is a disgrace.

Yes, it's a scandal how people fail to use the subjunctive properly these days. ;) Er, if it is a subjunctive, that is. Er.
