Term Limits?

Should there be term limits for those in the House and Senate? I think career politicians are the worst.
First push for randomized voting district lines...voting districts that haven't been calculated to give advantage to any party. Then push for compaign finance reform. Then you may have a shot at term limits, but I'm not sure its a good idea to limit senator terms. Maybe? Reps already have 2 terms max. Only senators don't have term limits.

The problem is you are expecting career politicians to fix those problems first, which will never happen.

I have mixed views on this. I like the idea in theory, but on the other hand, the voters can do it themselves. But that seems to be a large part of the problem with our political system, in more ways than one: The voters.

If not for the voters, we'd have a much better government.

Yes, it would be the best way to save the democracy. I would suggest 3 terms for the senate and 5 or 6 terms for the house of representatives. It would keep congress current with the populations needs.

Nope, the only career politicians I see supporting these policies are republicans. Vote them out if you want change. Ever heard of Gerrymandering?

They are and it always ends up with entrenchment and corruption. Government was never designed for lifetime positions. It seem people forgot the intention was to get away from the King in the first place. Now we are making our own Kings out of people.

Term limits should be expanded across all elected positions and even further all the way to Supreme Court appointments.

Either (a) the above is clearly false, or (b) the Founding Fathers who designed our government were remarkable thoughtless.

This has nothing to do with term limits. The issue with the King was not how long he rules but with the authority by which he rules.

I agree. Without limits, elected officials view the job as a career instead of doing the will of the people.
Lindsay Graham is a good example.
